- Hello, I am sure that you are thinking of everybody that you can circulate posters to,might I suggest that you contact who ever grooms your dog,I am sure that she or he will have contact with other groomers and will spread the word for you. As a groomer myself you do get to know the dogs you groom and can pass on useful information to others, also quite a few groomers now do micro-chipping and have scanners in their shops. Hope this is of some help, good luck.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Also, tell as many dog walkers as possible and give them posters/leaflets. They can be on the lookout for you as well then. Try the local papers, some seem to run stolen dog stories.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Excellant advice phoenix! All I can add is the power of poster so get out there- do not under estimate the power that a good poster campaign has. Email to friends and family and ask them to send out to more friends and ask they print at least one poster and put in a good eye catching position.Do log incident at local police station and ask for a crime refernece number if these people were seen taking him as this is THEFT!! Make sure your local council or animal warden is aware and check local rescues just in case they decide to let him go and he is picked up as a stray- although good to see he is micro-chipped. - So sorry to about Honey. Please excuse me if you had done these things, but make sure you inform the police about the people taking him. If possible get a crime number rather than a lost dog number so they will take it more seriously. Would there be cctv footage of them with Honey ? Obviously, poster shops, vets, taxi firms, pet shops, car boot sales, markets. Inform the dog warden and find out where they board stray dogs and contact these as well. Some seem to not log all missing dogs or get the details wrong for dogs found so send them a poster and ring/visit them daily to make sure. Also check which vets they use for injured dogs. It's great that he is chipped but still check as he may slip through unscanned (not all rescues etc. scan). Contact local newspapers, even if it's just a ad in the lost and found section. Highlight that there is a reward so maybe people more willing to call. Also ad trader, ukclassifieds and preloved are worth putting a post on, and checking in case he is being sold on. Check wherever people advertise dogs for sale locally. Inform the microchip company, local rescue centres, try getting a poster in the postal sorting office and delivery places so people on the look out. Good luck and fingers crossed for you x
