Lenny is SAFE, thanks to the lovely 2 young boys on their push bikes in Wrenbury for getting ahead of Lenny and doing as I asked of them so I could catch him up and jump on him. If anyone knows the 2 boys please please say thank you, they are a credit to their parents xxx

Great news :)) Thanks for the link Jean.

Welcome home Lenny. Well done to all involved.

A Trap has been set up in the area but Lenny didn't go near last night. Area has been completely scented by owner, fingers crossed he shows up very soon. If anyone is in the area and sees lenny please report to Ronni ASAP, PLEASE DO NOT CHASE OR ATTEMPT TO GRAB HIM XX

diluted pee is also good for scenting. make sure you have treats with you and throw them gently towards him, do not make eye contact. Speak low and soft if at all. Patience is the key.Last edited: 2019-04-18 09:13:46 by Skywalker99

Hi Ronni I spoke to your partner yesterday on the phone, I gave him the advice that if lenny is seen then go low and do not call him. Please also see the email advice that I sent you when lenny was added, in that is all the Advice for scenting. It will be worth putting food down so that he keeps coming back to the same spot. Put some of your scent on clothing with it, fingers crossed this works for you xxxx

Ronni, he will not have recognised you. After dogs have been on the run even for a day or two they often do not recognise anyone. When you next see Lenny, do not approach him but walk at an angle then sit on ground and let him look at you. Do not make eye contact or call but speak quietly. Skywalker99's advice to leave some of your unwashed clothing where you saw him is very good. He will recognise your scent.

Have you left things with a familiar scent (e.g. Your dirty clothes) in the field. Hope yo are getting local help and advice on how to catch him
Ronni
The farmer took me to the field that he spotted him in and would you believe it Lenny was there. I called his name as I approached him and he ran off. Spent all day searching and again this evening with no joy. Local farmers have been notified. Fingers crossed he will be found soon

Hi Ronni, I sent you an email late last night, please look at the attachments especially the scenting advice. You can print posters directly from this page and I recommend getting them up ASAP. If you have Facebook please add me (Fiona Monger) so we can stay in touch x

Thank you everyone. I have returned from my holiday and spent the afternoon/evening walking the fields and lanes. Lenny is not familiar with the area as we actually live in Lincoln but visit here regularly as this is where my partner lives. I have not but in touch with DRONEsar (not sure what it is). The local vets have been contacted but I will do it again today. The breeder has been made aware (Lenny is a rare colour for a long haired dachshund). So out of character for him to run and I cannot fathom why he would. Devastated however thank you so much for all your support so far.
