Agree Millys Mum (though I do do Facebook). Yesterday I saw a leaflet dispenser at the vet's with A5 'missing' flyers in so hopefully that's getting the word out to a much wider audience.

Millys Mum- thanks for taking the time to comment on Otto's post. Sorry that no-one has commented on your posts which are very positive. As you say, lots of the work is done via facebook. You can copy and paste Otto and Poppy's facebook group into your browser and you can see their site. You don't have to be a member of facebook to see this. However, the group is stating that there have been no sightings or information.

Thanks very much for taking the time to care :)

Been wondering how the search for Otto and Poppy is going. Such a pity that Facebook has taken so much away from DogLost and that my (hopefully) initial 3 posts have not been acknowledged or even commented upon. Like other DL Helpers, I don’t ‘do’ Facebook and so I find it difficult / impossible to help these days. But always hoping that Otto and Poppy will be found safe and sound.

Me again! I’ve just checked, it’s Hookwood Road, BR6 7NX (and not Lane) which I believe it very close to where Otto and Poppy went missing from. There also a community church in the village which must have a Notice Board where a poster could be displayed although it (and the 2 pubs and garden centres) might have always been covered.

We used to attend dog training classes at School Bank Farm, Hookwood Lane on a Tuesday evening, run by Vicky Crisp. If she still runs the classes, she would be a good person to contact (she also rides her horses in the area). Plus, her partner has (or used to have) a pet shop supplies shop in Orpington. Unfortunately, I don’t know what it’s called but i would imagine that they would be happy to display a poster.

I’m so sorry to hear that Otto and Poppy are still missing but hope that today brings some good news. We live in Beckenham and so it’s highly unlikely that they will come our way (although not impossible) but will certainly keep my ears and eyes open. We do visit the two Coolings’ garden centres ‘up’ Rushmore Hill on a regular basis and know that they are very dog friendly. I presume you have alerted them and dropped in some posters so that both staff and customers are aware. As you are probably aware, their two restaurants are very popular! Also don’t forget to ask both pubs (top anjd bottom of Rushmore Hill) to display a Missing Poster. Fingers crossed!Last edited: 2019-05-05 15:07:22 by Millys Mum

Searching has stopped for this evening as everyone is shattered. Posters are up and all the relevant authorities have been informed.

Sorry to see that OTTO is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (143152)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
