- Woo Hoo Nelly is HOME, email from Peter: I have left a telephone message on the DogLost hotline to say that WE HAVE FOUND NELLY! Thank you so much for your support. We have really benefitted from your kindness. The DogLost website is brilliant - the best, actually. However, I couldn't work out how to report that my dog had been found. What i will do is leave a message on the comments board to tell those kind people who have left us messages that all is well. Love and best wishes from us all and NELLY! This is brilliant news and what we like to see Nelly going into the BLUE, welcome home you lovely girl. POSTER POWER working it magic. Peter give her a big hug and cuddle from everyone on DL, well done to you and your family and everyone who has helped in the search for her. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Meant to say before, the fact that Nelly is spayed, chipped and tagged is good news as this should give her the best possible chance of being reunited with you very soon. I've just checked which Council you come under & so ignore my question. Lewisham Council's Animal Welfare Service (8.30am - 4.30pm) is very good. Their number is 8314 2098. Also call your local Safer Neighbourhood Police Team. Their number appears to be 8721 2723 (based at Dartmouth Rd) but make sure that this is your local team. Which road did Nelly go missing from? Is this close to home? Where are the local parks? I don't really know Forest Hill but used to go to dog training at Dulwich and so used to drive through Forest Hill. If she is still missing tomorrow, I will alert my dog trainer who holds dog training classes nearby on a Tuesday morning.

- Peter, I'm so sorry to hear that Nelly is missing. I'm not too far away from you (Beckenham). Which vet did she go missing from? Does Forest Hill come under Lewisham Council? If so, the Dog Wardens are very good and caring. Makes sure you get as many posters out as possible. Visit all your local pubs and ask them to display a poster as ,sadly, many lost dogs are found and sometimes sold on via pubs. The children should be on holiday round your way and so get as many as them on the case as children are very observant. Visit your local cab offices and ask them to display a poster. Make Nelly the best known and hottest girl in town.

- Any chance the other picture could also be put on the poster because it shows her colouring differently ??

- Leave posters with the dog warden and any rescue centres and vets close by because she may get logged as a different breed. My brindle bullmastiff girl was always being mistaken for a boxer or a staffie when she was a puppy. Hopefully she will get scanned for a chip but make sure people have pictures as well to be safe. There may be professional dog walkers in the area so give them posters/leaflets as well, milkmen, dustbin men. Just wish I was closer so I could help search x

- She looks beautiful ! Poster everywhere, including vets, pet shops, local shops and supermarkets, postal sorting offices so postmen can be on the lookout. Inform the microchip company that she is missing. Ask local vets to keep an eye out for her and to scan any similar dogs that are new to them. Tell as many dog walkers as possible and give them leaflets/posters so they can be on the lookout for you. They are more likely to notice if someone gets a new dog. Check with local dog wardens and rescue centres daily, and visit if possible. Check with the dog warden about where injured stray dogs get taken. Try the local paper, they may run a story or at least have a lost and found section you can put a notice in. Check anywhere locally that dogs are sold. She may come back to the area of the vets so keep looking around there as well. Great that she is chipped and tagged, hopefully she will be home very soon.
Good luck, fingers and toes crossed for you x

- Peter sorry to see Nelly is missing, great you have supplied us with a picture. Please do leave an update on the circumstances by selecting Add a Comment next to the blue cross just above other comments, to print posters select Dog Poster 1 above Other Information and you will find vets in the area and surrounding area by using the logo Find any UK Vet which flashes up underneath the Latest Missing photo. Someone may have picked her up and once they see a poster you will be contacted, good luck. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Smaller posters and an A4 poster with both pictures on emailed to Peter and Millys Mum Area Co-Ordinator, hope they help in the search for Nelly and we see her in the blue soon. Good luck. If anyone else is able to help with the postering and wants smaller posters please let us know. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
