UPDATE from Susie's facebook group.....
13/4/20 we have had a report of a lone black and white Collie running in the South Dersingham area.
We do not know that this was Susie, but are following up with camera placement JUST IN CASE her regular route has been stumbled across.
We appreciate how difficult things are at the moment during the Covid-19 crisis... but please keep eyes peeled in the Dersingham, Sandringham, West Newton, Wolferton, Flitcham, Babingley and surrounding areas as you go about your daily exercise.
We have an ample supply of posters/flyers for Susie which we can get to you in a socially distant way if you feel you are able to help spread word during your exercise/dog walk time to ensure EVERYONE in those areas know about her...just message the page and we will sort something. Please also share this post widely across the area 👍
As always...if you think you see her...DO NOT APPROACH as she WILL bolt. If poss, try to get a picture, note exact location, time, direction the dog is heading and send it via the message button to this page.

UPDATE from Susie's group.....
Last night's possible sighting of Susie in the Heacham area was checked out by Ros (Susie's owner) who visited the area immediately.
Sadly there were no further sightings of the dog seen...it could easily have been a local dog too...but the team will be re-newing posters and 'asking around' in the area just in case.
Susie's previous life (albeit an unhappy one) was as a farm dog...so it is possible that she will have settled somewhere rural with similar sounds/smells...and a dog that has settled can remain un-seen for long periods of time before their food source dries up...or they are disturbed and show themselves.
It is vital that ALL people know about her...and with holidaymakers due to come to the area soon in droves...it would be fabulous if every cafe/pub/play area/funfair/caravan site/attraction has Susie's poster prominently displayed.
We need them to know not to chase/follow her and who to call if they see her. PLEASE HELP BY PRINTING AND PUTTING UP JUST ONE POSTER IF YOU CAN 🙏

There has been a sighting of a stray Border Collie in Heacham, please keep a look out in the area and contact Susie’s owner if you do see this dog.
It’s not known if this dog is Susie but certainly needs to be checked.

Susie has now been lost for just over 7 months 😔

The trail has, for the moment, gone cold with no confirmed sightings for some time.

This can mean several things:
🔸 She has found a place so secure that no-one is noticing her (such as a controlled estate where drones/searches are not permitted)
🔹 She has moved on to a new area...could be 50 miles away or more...where people don't know her story, so again, is un-noticed
◾️ Someone has her (unlikely as she would be incredibly difficult to catch given her nervous nature...but not to be ruled out)
◽️ Harm has come to her (we have no reason to believe this is the case, but it has to be considered)

What you can do to help:
🔸 GET WORD OUT! Talk to groundsmen, rangers, gamekeepers, staff that work on these 'hard to reach' estates...there is ALWAYS someone that doesn't know
🔹GET WORD OUT! Share the poster EVERYWHERE! Hit the share button/add to business/community pages ALL OVER THE AREA AND BEYOND! Print a poster or two and put up anywhere people will see! POSTERS ARE THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY OF A DOG BEING SIGHTED...usually randomly and unexpectedly...you just need someone to make the connection!
◾️ GET WORD OUT! If someone does have her...it could be completely innocently...they just don't realise that she is a loved pet...Susie is very distinctive with that nick in her ear...have YOU seen her with someone anywhere?
◽️ GET WORD OUT! People out walking, people working the land, visitors just need to know...they may come across something that would help

So please share this post WIDELY! Ros needs Susie home...let's raise awareness further afield and make that happen! Thank you so much for anything you can do x

There has been a sighting of a Collie type dog at Mundesley at the holiday camp entrance opposite the windmill on the 8th of December, the dog ran out onto fields towards Bacton. (Looks like a medium mixed breed collie/Shepard cross has a collar), If this dog is seen again please contact Rosalind, Susie's owner as this could possibly be Susie x

The most recent possible sighting was within the area shown below...so PLEASE THINK OF HER AND KEEP EYES PEELED along the Bircham/Roman/Snettisham Roads there, and up to Fring, down to Amner, across to Snettisham and Bagthorpe the other way

Susie will be hard to see. She's a clever girl. She will be active overnight, early mornings and evenings...but she WILL (in her survival state) make a mistake, take a risk and be seen at some point.

Please don't stop thinking of her as you pass through those areas...and beyond in case she moves on...but we need all eyes watching out in that particular area for now 🙏

IF YOU SEE HER MESSAGE CALL THE NUMBERS ON THE POSTER - DO NOT CHASE/FOLLOW HER - SHE WILL DISAPPEAR AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO TRAP HER SAFELY WILL BE LOST!

A positive sighting two days ago, again still not too far from home and close to where two "not sure it's her" sightings. Fingers crossed everyone that we can get her feeding regularly to stand a chance of getting her home. 🙏

I have sent a text to the mobile number but thought it might be helpful for anyone following that I spotted a dark-coloured dog which was slightly lame going into the pine woods near Great Bircham on Sunday afternoon at 2.45. The woods are on the Snettisham side of a Bircham. The dog was too far away to make out any details but definitely on its own and could easily be a border collie as about the right size

UPDATE 20/8 - SUSIE IS STILL MISSING 😢
It is now almost 3 months since Susie bolted and got herself lost.
There have been many sightings of her from Ringstead Downs down to Sandringham...but the majority have been in the Snettisham area.
We have not, however, had a sighting since 16th July now....

Susie is still missing.
She is roaming the area, and has been spotted in Ken Hill Woods, fields between Ingoldisthorpe/Dersingham/Fring/Sedgeford and up as far as Ringstead Downs...but, WE NEED SIGHTINGS AND AWARENESS of her plight so that all people, not just Facebook users, know exactly who to call if they spot her.
Susie is an anxious dog and scared of a lead...she will not be caught by coaxing - she will run...she is going to need to be trapped, or accidentally cornered (if you catch her in your garden/barn/whatever...shut the door/gate and call Ros, the owner!) To trap her...we will need to gain trust, get her feeding regularly somewhere safe, quiet and undisturbed by human scent, if you do see her please contact the owner immediately.

Update 17th of June....
HAVE YOU SEEN SUSIE - yet another week of my Susie being missing is about to start. She is on the run again but with the help of people phoning in sightings, Canine Capture, SAR Drone, Dogs Lost and of course "team Susie" on the ground we are getting a much clearer picture of her habits and the routes she is taking. Unfortunately she bolts at the sight of a human. Sighting timings have varied between 3.30am and 7.30pm still in outlaying and remote areas surrounding Snettisham. Dogs can run for 10 miles a day and are very resourceful animals and some have been known to take weeks or months to catch. Many miles have been covered on foot, by car, hours spent quietly in wait, from the air, weather permitting and of course replacing and putting up posters in new areas where Susie has been seen. Everything possible is being done to try to encourage her to settle somewhere, Only when she settles or visits regularly to feed can we set a trap to catch her. As you can imagine this is a very stressful and exhausting process and our thanks go to everyone who has shared her facebook page, helped with printing and placing posters and of course the all important sightings - keep them coming in please! Thank you for all your lovely messages of good wishes we have received, much appreciated and far outnumber the negative ones! Ros Pugh

Susie update....UPDATE 13/6
Sightings of Susie are trickling in...but with the extreme rain and flooding...nothing has been noted since last Saturday, when she was reported as seen in the Snettisham area.
Previous to that, Susie has been seen running (not a good sign as it means she has been spooked/disturbed and a scared dog is not safe from roads) up as far as Ringstead Downs.
A scared, lost dog can cover several miles per day...so the hope is that she has hunkered down somewhere she considers 'safe' from the weather, and will pop up again soon...however, NOTHING can be ruled out at this stage, so we need high awareness of her plight for a good 25 mile radius of Snettisham.
Other work is being carried out to locate Susie at each sighting area...drones, cameras, thermal equipment...but, as always, it is likely to be the 'accidental' sighting that will hold the key to securing her...lets make sure THAT person with THAT sighting knows exactly what to do when they see her!!

Susie is now beginning her fourth week of being lost. Unfortunately she seems to be on the move again circling around trying to find her way home, if only she knew where it is! Hopefully in this awful weather she will have found a dry warm place to hide. You sightings have been really important, keep them coming in please with time, location and direction she is travelling in. Recent sightings have reported she looks fit and well. If you live in the more remote areas please check in barns, store rooms, garages, anywhere there is shelter. Only when she settles down can we hope to catch or trap her. Everything is being done to bring her safely home. Thank you all for your help and good wishes and please keep sharing!

HAVE YOU SEEN SUSIE sorry I haven't replied to all, have been out today to place where we think she is hiding again. After laying in wait for a very long time and getting thoroughly wet I left water, food, her blanket and my smelly garden slippers which she plays with! Cameras are also going up just to make sure it is Susie.Hopefully she will settle down and stop circling round! I will be e mailing her poster through to suggested places as well. Small fleet of vans already carrying them. If you walk the paths at the back of Bottom End Farm, the remote bits of Ken Hill woodland and the further reaches of Ringstead downs could you possibly help with posters please?
