Since Billy is timid and potentially in survival mode, viewing all humans as predators, it's safest to head all posts NERVOUS - please DO NOT CALL, CHASE or try to CATCH - report sightings to ...
Given that lead and harness attached - in the absence of any sightings an intensive ground search needs to be carried out from Billy's last known position. Assume that he's curled up on the ground. If caught up/trapped, dogs instinctively know that they are vulnerable and will remain silent even if their owner walks right by. Does he know his way home from last sighting ? Was he lost from home ? What happened ? Share and poster the area. What are his habits – chasing animals, going off on his own ? Medical conditions ?
Contact @DroneSARForLostDogsUK for advice on suitability of a drone air search.
Can you get a thermal imaging camera (gamekeepers?) to search undergrowth ?
