Rang owner for an update, BRILLIANT NEWS Beau is HOME.  He was found approx 6 miles from where he went missing, owners put up lots of posters and got several call with sightings.  Beau was missing nearly a week, they got calls within minutes of each other and when they went to the area they found him.  Excellent news to find he is BACK HOME.  Welcome home you lovely boy, pleasure moving you into the BLUE.  Power of the POSTER working their magic.  Jan x

Such good news to hear that the lovely Beau is safely home again.   It would be nice if owners thought to pass on the good news as they've taken the trouble to register their dogs lost in the first place, although I can understand it's not the first thing they're going to think of.   Anyway, welcome home, and stay safe now Beau xx

Any news today?  I do not know the area, but does this Park have a water or food source nearby? This would be an area to look at. Collies are so resilient and can fend for themselves. He would probably by now have stiffed out food smells & followed it.  Good luck with the scenting. I hope it draws him in. Dont forget the power of posters though, they really do work.

My internet is off at home at the moment, I've emailed SCENTING INSTRUCTIONS to owner, do have them saved for sending from work.  Good luck and hope to see Beau home soon and in the BLUE.  Jan x

Scenting is simple. Wee on a towel/item of clothing. Put it down where they have been seen. Top it up now and again.Good idea to use an old water bottle then you can just pur it on. Also put food down next to it. They will then begin to accociate owners smell with food and keep coming back. Good luck.

As beau has been seen in the area, keep her there by scenting (admin will give you details) and also putting food down regularly. She looks an absolute poppet. Good luck, I hope she is home soon

  Firstly inform the Dog warden who you will be able to contact at your council offices. Posters (In plastic folders) need to be put up in the area where Beau went missing, or where there have been sightings - on lamposts, entrances to parks and strategic places in parks,  like at the start and finish of tracks and paths, dog bins, at vets, petshops, pubs, carry-out food shops, post offices,  local shops who often allow postcards in the window, supermarkets who have notice boards, community centres, youth clubs, schools etc. You can ask the postman, milkman, taxi drivers,  street cleaners,  binmen (even put poster on bins), to take some flyers and hand them out on their rounds. You can ask school bus drivers and kids on the bus, or if you have kids on the bus, get them to hand out flyers at school.  Deliver flyers to houses, businesses & pop through letterboxes . Hand out flyers to people in the street, especially dog walkers. Put posters or flyers  in  car windows. Rescue centres and kennels, also police offices need checking regularly and preferably visited in person, by owner or someone who knows the dog, because your dog or it's breed may not be recognised by other people. Also police are sometimes too busy to deal with it. Get some media coverage if you can, by asking the local radio station to broadcast Beau as missing and put an ad in the local newspaper with a picture of him. Good luck and best wishes.

Great that you've got a photo onto the site and the poster so quickly.   Print this off and poster everywhere, this and his chip are the best way home for him.   The power of the poster cannot be over-estimated, you say he is being seen in the area, so someone will hopefully get in touch with you.  If he is being seen in one place it may be worth putting down some clothing or something of yours which he could identify with you.   He may then stay with it, so check back.   I know this works, I've tried it with my dogs.   Also contact local dog warden at the Council Offices, and visit rescue centres/kennels locally, regularly, don't rely on phoning them as they often don't match descriptions given with dogs they have in.   Good luck with the search, stay safe lovely Beau xx
