- Wonderful news that the very handsome Digger is now at home, well done to all involved in the search, a special thanks to the council worker who's quick thinking had him secure in the playground. Poster Power works it's magic again.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- We cannot find the words to thank-you enough for helping us get our precious Digger back. Jotty - you were amazing, to give so much of your time and to help keep us sane when we were spiralling into despair thank-you. Thankyou also to everyone for all of you kind wishes to bring him home, to everyone who searched for our boy and to everyone who looked out for him and those who were preparing to come - and to Beardies in Need who co-ordinated the search for us. Digger is now sleeping next to me having devoured a whole tin of pilchards. He was found in a children's playground where a kind council worker shut him in and called us - even driving out to meet us and show us the way. For a moment I couldn't believe my eyes, but as I called his name his head lifted and a look of relief came across his face and tears fell on mine.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Really sorry to hear about Digger, but keep your spirits up, I was involved in trying to find a Beardie called Connor in the Yorkshire area a few years ago, he had run away after the car stopped on route and did not know the area but was eventually found safe and well. Poster all the Farmers in the fields, as they are all out combining now and have good views from their cabs and can see into hedge bottoms etc, if Digger is keeping under cover. I'm sure you will find your lovely boy soon. Stay safe Digger xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- If you don't get advice before then, call Jayne on 0844 800 3220 first thing quote Digger's no. 14443 and she'll tell you what to do. Shirley will be up early too, she may know. I know you can send one from your mobile if it's easier. Good luck and keep your spirits up. xxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Nope, no working quarry jimi. The area is a country park with a lake (where he bolted from), surrounded by farmers fields and then small wooded areas at various points too. Fields join up to Hockley Woods also but hopefully he will stay more within the area he ran from. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Verity, send the photo of Digger to admin@doglost.co.uk and we will upload it for you - any problems, give me a call. I am sure he will have found a nice sheltered spot tonight..ready and waiting to be found tomorrow! I know it is difficult but once we get those posters up, the sightings should come in.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Poor Digger I hope he's home safely today. Is there a working quarry behind Gusted Hall woods? If so I'd ask them to look out although may be opp direction - also flyers for houses/farms etc. Glad Jotty's onto it. Good luck, take care Digger. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- I've been searching all day and have just got in. I have a photo to add, but can't seem to find a way to do it, any helpers? I'm so despondent that he's out there alone tonight. VerityLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- No problem Beardies! My dad and sister went out looking for an hour tonight and had a walk around - no sign but they saw quite a few people out searching. Will dig out a number for the farmer who farms the adjoining fields to the park as worth alerting him.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Many thanks for that Jotty, its kind of you, owners will be very grateful. Some young lads said they saw him about 1 hour ago, they have gone straight to that end of the woods with 1 other beardie bitch. No other news as yet. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Just spoken to owner who is out searching. Digger ran from the lake area and headed west (towards Rayleigh). Possible sighting by some children who believed he went into Grove Woods. She is going to leave some scented clothing in the area he initially went from and will be returning early tomorrow armed with posters. I'm going to meet her in the morning and show her round the area and get all entrances/exits etc postered. Owner already notified vets, dog wardens etc. Plenty of people walk this area so hopefully he will be spotted soon, Stay safe Digger. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
