- So fantastic to hear that Jarvis is rallying David, you both have a lot of love to help the healing process π Facebook has it’s critics but if used in the right way it is a priceless tool to help animals / people back together. It’s wonderful that this has had such a ‘happy’ ending, sending lots of love and here’s hoping that you will all have plenty of time to make treasured memories. Our furries will never ever be with us for the lifetime that we would like π we have to enjoy it while we can ππππππππ

- Thank you Paw, didn’t realise how much I loved this dog. You watch their whole life play out in front of you..and it’s just so beautiful and ultimately so sad too. I have this old man who I don’t want to go. Thank you for the support. Left in a rush and feel bad I didn’t take my posters down. Thank you again
- 2019-06-13 13:20 Paw
- So pleased that Jarvis is resting and recovering, it sounds like he must have been really tired to have been caught and gently restrained - well done Wayne and Chris! David I'm so glad you didn't give up on him, you sounded so sad and dejected when I spoke with you, I knew you didn't want to give up really. It was quite a nice walk this morning removing the posters.

- DavidGill Pleased that Jarvis is doing well. Sending Jarvis healing thoughts. We do tend to hear about more bad things that people do, and not the good re: the media. My hat goes off to the people whose own dogs are missing. And yet they are willing to put themselves out, to help search for other missing dogs, although their own heart must be broken. You are all stars****Last edited: 2019-06-13 12:48:57

- DavidGill, Brought a bit of a lump to my throat your post, he’s clearly so loved and it’s mutual , probably why he survived and didn’t give up, he was determined to see you again.

- So happy for you David. So many people and dogs are not reunited, and when either is elderly it's even more tragic. Restores my faith in humanity when so many people care about an old, lost dog. Happy summer to both of you :)

- Thank you Helen. I really can’t believe just how many people were helping and hoping. So many people were aware and in these last 5 days where I’ve done nothing much but walk and sleep..I’ve over heard walkers talking..spoken to a local builder I know who said..ah that’s your dog..saw on Facebook!..been phoned by an off duty police officer and texted with offers of help!!.. the guys who spotted him also said they’d seen it on Facebook..so wow!!..I’m just amazed. As for Jarvis..he’s recovering. I’m back in London and as I write he’s sleeping on a comfy mass of towels and duvet cover in the kitchen. His basket’s too tight and he’s stiff. He’s got some sores and maggots and he’s clearly dazed but he’s been checked over in the boot of my car...got some drugs and hibiscrub and we’ll sort it. He’s been walking round wagging his tale and eating small portions of chicken and rice. We’re so pleased it didn’t end for him in this way. So grateful for the guys at the coastguard cottages who were straight on the case and did all the contact with you and started this huge ball rolling. Thank you again to everyone. Jarvis will have a great summer and I wish the same to you all. Thank you

- Thank you so much for the update David, I know there were so many people helping and searching for him and lots of people that lived too far away to help on the ground willing him home.
Keep safe now Jarvis you are one special boy x - 2019-06-12 20:52 .

- Wow - just THE best news - just am so delighted for you all ... was unable to come & help look but been sharing & checking DogLost - the thrill of seeing him in the blue now has made my day ... hope he will feel okay after a couple of days .... people's idea of a tracker sounds good .. x
- 2019-06-12 20:03 DavidGill
- Firstly can I say a huge heartfelt thank you to this resource and all the people who've offered advice and encouragement here on it. Thank you to everyone who looked out for Jarvis..and to everyone who went out and looked for him!. Jarvis was found in a field between Westleton and Middleton. When I got there he was covered by a coat and being gently held down so he didn’t run and his eyes were closed. He got up slowly, and you can imagine that moment. This old dog, who would have been so distressed and run himself ragged on Saturday morning, and who needs to drink more than you’d expect, and whose back legs give way on the stairs..spent 4 nights out in woods and fields. I had been sure he was dead. He’s now recovering and feeling the love. Thank you everyone. Thank you Wayne and Chris from Middleton. The king is not dead!!..long live the king!

- Oh, what wonderful news!! I’ve been too far away to help on the ground but have been checking in daily with hope for this dear old boy - very worried that as he was last sighted by a pond he may have toppled in.
David - I was so heartened by your devotion to your dear friend, not giving up on him and determined to find him whatever the outcome. You so deserve to have him home safe. Cuddle him close tonight, I’m sure you’ll both sleep well. - 2019-06-12 19:14 vanessa

- Brilliant news David and Jarvis! He must have just kept running until he felt safe, like my border collie does (and did this morning!) Luckily I know his usual route and he had his tracker collar on, so I went and headed him off at Sizewell again! Not sure if you need a tracker for Jarvis, but ours is Nano dog tracker and works as well as can be expected with mobile signal around here. Can't remember price (less than £100 I think) but subscription is £60 per year - just renewed ours for 3rd year. It worked well this morning as I could see how far down the beach he had got by the time I got to Sizewell. I'll go and take down posters tomorrow as Stan will be on a lead walk tomorrow!

- Thank goodness, treats for Jarvis tonight and a good night's sleep for you, welcome home Jarvis.
- 2019-06-12 16:14 Sue
- On a practical note: small, regular feeds of his normal food are recommended while his system readjusts! x

- That is THE best news SO pleased David!! The relief will keep you going for days π Maybe get him a tracking device as he’s vulnerable? I have one on Meg since she went awol! Was great to meet you at Dunwich yesterday, it’s hard to keep hopeful as the days go by, but you have to keep going! Jarvis will be so unbelievably relieved too bless him. Hope he’s ok. ...I’m grinning like an idiot here!! xxx

- Hi David, We live in Westleton and went out looking for Jarvis from about 11am onwards this morning around the Sandlings walk area and towards Eastbridge. Will keep looking. Is it worth leaving an item of clothing further into the reserve with your smell on it? Just an idea.
- 2019-06-12 09:47 DavidGill
- Just back from Minsmere and Sandlings Walk area and went much further into the reserve. I’ve been hoping my other dog may pick up his scent or leave his own that Jarvis can get if he is still around. We’ve walked all the area early and late and there’s just no sign
- 2019-06-12 08:59 Gloria
- David maybe a call to the local radio to Mike Murphy to give a mention could help too just a thought come on Jarvis we want you back home
- 2019-06-12 06:31 DavidGill

- Jarvis has been shared to Harvey's Army (south) and seen him on EastAnglia lost and found pets...if I could drive I would be there; unfortunately all I can do at the moment is share & hope π€π x

- Someone I met, today, when I told them about Jarvis said they’d seen it on Facebook??
- 2019-06-11 21:34 DavidGill
- That’s amazing thank you. I have a Facebook but never use it or know how to! Really don’t know how this works or what I should do
- 2019-06-11 21:07 SanP
- David, someone has kindly offered to set up a ‘group’ on Facebook for Jarvis. I gather that you yourself are not on Facebook but if you know someone that could act on your behalf Jarvis will get a lot more coverage.
- 2019-06-11 20:11 DavidGill
- Hi Gloria, thank you, just got back from Minsmere again. Just going further in and trying not to get lost. Nothing I’m afraid
- 2019-06-11 18:27 Gloria
- Have you got help this evening David?
- 2019-06-11 16:25 DavidGill
- Hi Gloria, yes and thank you for your support. I heard nothing on Sunday or since. I’ve walked further into the wooded areas off my main walk as I walked to coastguard cottages and no sign. My other dog’s a working cocker too. Feeling a little more positive after talking with the team at coastguard cottages. Thank you everyone
- 2019-06-11 15:49 Gloria
- David I was going into RSBP and I passed you I believe you had a black dog as I passed I had my car window open as I thought you found Jarvis but couldn’t stop as a van was coming the other way , anyway we started off from Saxmundham went via Leiston cut across to Minsmere then to RSPB then from there to Walberswick we had my sprocker with us to try to pick up a scent but still no sightings we spoke to Ian from the RSPB who kindly gave us a map of where we could and could not trespass of which we followed. We have just left and on our way home hopefully he will he found safe and sound , apparently there were 500 visitors to the RSPB on Sunday but no sightings but still stay positive David

- Wish I lived close to help but unfortunately I’m in Scotland. What about a drone or tracker dog? Could he be caught up in a fence, undergrowth or ttrapped somewhere? I really hope you find him soon but don’t give up hope, it’s early days πΎπΆ
- 2019-06-11 12:14 DavidGill
- I’m really sorry I don’t know where to suggest and thank you for your support
- 2019-06-11 12:11 DavidGill
- I’ve done the Sandlings Walk numerous times. I’ve walked the road to the RSPB and gone into the area in between all with my other dog. This is where I thought he may be. A lot of this area is no access to dogs. I’m at a loss to say where. He may have travelled some miles or collapsed. He’s old and going up stairs at home his legs occasionally give.
- 2019-06-11 11:50 Gloria
- David where would you suggest we go first
- 2019-06-11 11:48 Gloria
- Just heading towards Minsmere via Leiston to look for Jarvis
- 2019-06-11 10:45 DavidGill
- We were on what we call the Bakers Lane Walk. Drive down Bakers Lane and keep going all the way over speed bumps etc to Sandlings Walk. We park and walk through to Dunwich beach at Coastguard Cottages. We were on the return leg at 10am and 5-10 minutes from the car and suddenly he wasn't there. Went up and down for an hour or more and eventually drove round to Minsmere RSPB where I left my number. I had a call around 2pm saying he'd been spotted at the pond at the back of the centre. When I got there 15 minutes later there was no sign and was told the reported sighting although just reported to them..was from an hour ago. Later in the day a man told me he'd seen Jarvis running it the direction of Eastbridge at 10am. I believe he ran to the RSPB centre and has gone sideways onto open ground...too many birdwatchers to not report him on the bird sanctuary itself. So that was the last reported sighting at the back of the RSPB at 1pm Saturday. Although Jarvis knows the Sandlings Walk to the beach it was the first visit in a few months...we mostly walk around Walberswick.
- 2019-06-11 09:30 Gloria
- Where exactly did Jarvis walk when taken out was it a route you kept to and has there been any more sightings at all in any areas that might help when looking for Jarvis please
- 2019-06-10 23:16 ClaireG
- We were out again tonight and we will go again tomorrow. Poor Jarvis. Thoughts ate with you David Gill
- 2019-06-10 18:23 DavidGill
- Thanks to everyone for all the help and support. I’m afraid still no sign or word on Jarvis. I’ve been around Minsmere and Sandlings Walk and the forest in between and am here again in hope. Thank you all again.
- 2019-06-10 13:59 Gloria

- I walked along the border between Dunwich Heath & Minsmere last night, and out along the bridleway and down to Minsmere. Has anybody approached Sam & Loki yet? Also checking buildings where possible in case Jarvis has hunkered down somewhere. Will search again later xx

- Just walked from Eastbridge to Minsmere Sluice to scour Minsmere from a different perspective. Didn't see anything except a man who was working on the marshes - just on his way to Dingle, then Westwood and Tinkers marshes so will be on the lookout in some inaccessible places he's got your phone number. I'm off for a drive around Minsmere/Dunwich area soon.
- 2019-06-10 08:47 Gloria
- Thank you I’ll be out today looking with hope
- 2019-06-10 05:30 DavidGill
- I was also told by someone he’d run in the direction of Eastbridge from RSPB...I’ve driven the roads from Minsmere to Coastguard cottages and Dunwich and out to Eastbridge and walked around the walk he knows but nothing. I’m heading out again now. Thank you very much everyone
- 2019-06-10 04:56 DavidGill
- He was seen nr the pond at the back of the RSPB centre Minsmere and this was told to the staff some time afterwards at around 2 pm on Saturday. I had no other reports after that and nothing yesterday. Thank you

- Ring round all local vets tomorrow as someone may have taken him in and waiting for vets to open to get him scanned, vet should call you if he's taken in but best to be proactive and then at least they'll be aware of him. Off soon for a walk up the bridlepath off Sheepwash lane, we drove down there earlier but no sign of him. He may come out now there's less people and traffic about.

- So sorry Jarvis is still missing. I'm at Dunwich Heath where we're all aware and lots of eyes peeled. I will come and search after work. My dog was lost in the same area and it's indescribably distressing. Hang in there, they're tougher than you think! xx

- As he is deaf, When you are searching for Jarvis, I would take with you some freshly cooked chicken, as the smell of the meat should tempt him. And take with you his UNWASHED blanket, so he will recognize his own scent; yours too. Hand out as many posters as you can; where, and when you can. He could be hiding somewhere. Paws xd.
