A local DogLost Volunteer has followed this up making on the ground enquiries and by phone with Warden services - this dog’s keeper has been in touch.

Three separate comments on Caversham Dog Owners suggest this is a boat dog living on a mooring behind Caversham Tesco.

I recall previous sightings of a similarly described dog in this area in the last year also. Will pass to ehadvice@westberks.gov.uk and see if any vols available to poster the area/speak to locals.

This stray dog was handed in to Oakley Vets, Reading and is now in the care of the warden services https://publicprotectionpartnership.org.uk/environmental-health/dog-warden/ and listed with the agreement of the Warden.
