I’m heartbroken for Gilbert’s family that he has been found and has passed across to rainbow bridge. What an absolutely tragic end, I know how hard they and everyone involved tried to find him. RIP sweet boy, condolences to you all. 🐾

I have made a report at battersea for Gilbert. No news yet sadly but we will contact owner if he is brought in or reported to us here.

Anne You should report it to the police as they may be able to help you find out more from the man you mentioned.
Also, if you get a crime reference number from the police email it to stolen@doglost.co.uk along with Gilbert's DogLost ID number 144985 and he'll be upgraded to stolen x

Thank you Carolyn, you're very kind. We walk there. We live only ten minutes away. And yes we checked all the ponds. Reported to everyone. We are desperately worried too that the man is covering something up. Such a long story. We're going to try and find out where he lives. But we're clutching at straws. Sorry, I'm not making much sense. Thank you again.

Hello, I’m so sorry this has happened today, how awful. Hope you’ve managed to get in touch with the rangers - I would def message them as they have helped a lot in the past. Just a thought - did you check all the railings of all the ponds , just in case the man didn’t describe it correctly. I know they are not all near each other and it’s easy to get confused. Also, do you have a place where you usually park if this is a regular walk? On a previous search that I helped with, the owner was allowed to park her car at West Heath in the car park overnight, she chose to leave the boot open with her dog’s blanket in and some food, so that her dog could come back to the car. Of course you need to explore all other possibilities of what’s happened. I know some dog walkers that go to the Heath every day - will ask them to spread the word, it’s a nice community and everyone will look out for you. Hope you can get plenty of posters up too. Paws crossed for him 🐾

How horrible for you, to be in this situation...please keep the hope though, all paws and everything xd 🤞🙏 that Gilbert will be found safe very soon...thoughts are with Gilbert and family who are frantically worried...Good Luck to all involved in searching for this little lad...please stay safe lovely lad Gilbert, until you are found x

Thank you everyone for your kindness. We are in deep despair. Just come back from the Heath. We fear he's been taken. This awful man who says he tied him up. We can't get to the bottom of it. It's unbearable. He is such a wonderful little dog. Than you all again.
