Teals safe - she is back home with Barbara and in good spirits - she gate crashed a party!
The party goers were wondering who had brought a dog to the party . They looked at the tag on her collar and it was Teal!
So close to home.

Hang on in there. Odd that the couple shooed her out of the garden if she still had her tag on. Most people would at least call the number albeit many wouldn't/couldn't take dog to vet for microchip scan. Glad Tiga enjoyed the walk but hope for good news tomorrow.

Yet another hot day in Northiam looking for Teal ....can I just thank all the locals I spoke to today offering their help, taking my flyers, spreading the word ...Barbara and I are so grateful. Teal was rehomed to Barbara by me as Southern Co-ordinator for Independent Flatcoated Retriever Rehoming in March ...Her life changed dramatically ...I really hope she will come home soon. I was shocked at the speed cars travel on the A28 where she was hit by two cars ...one vehicle actually clipped my thumb stick last Sunday and ripped it out of my hand ....horrifying the speeds traffic travel... fingers crossed for better news tomorrow

As far as I know we have only had one sighting of a black dog in that area - sadly the couple were not dog lovers and it was only by chance we heard about it. The description was a black dog with four legs and they shooed the dog out of their garden across a wheat field
We did go round to the house last night but as yet no useful information has been forthcoming . The garden opens out onto wheat fields and without tracking through the crops there wasn’t much we could do.
I have been back again today and walked around the field edges with Tiga and beyond into woods and further afield but apart from Tiga having a lovely walk not much to report on.

Update on Nextdoor:-

Teal is still missing but is thought to be in the Mill Corner area and there have been a couple of sightings of a black dog in people's gardens, we are keeping positive and hoping that she will soon be found and reunited with her owner. I cannot thank you all enough for your concern and help in trying to find Teal. She's had a pretty rotten life and was settling into her new home really well. Her owner is obviously upset and is doing all she can to find Teal, all I can ask is that we all keep looking, thank you x

So my suspicions appear to be correct and it does seem that Teal was clipped by a car on two occasions .

Tiga tracked yesterday in hot and humid conditions which was not easy but he has given us some clues which now need following up.
I went back today without a dog as it was just too humid for Tiga, I ran up and down the ‘tram lines’ in the cornfield to check again before we move on
elsewhere, I actually clocked up 8km in the half of the field I was interested in
I expect we will be back down with either Tiga or Yogi very soon.
JudeS - I have more questions for your son in law - if I can either speak to him or can you ask him if he knows what colour was the car that he saw clip Teal
and also if he can be more accurate with the time. This is quite important so
would very much appreciate - thank you so o much!

My son in law witnessed Teal run across the crossroads at New Road and get clipped by a car. She ran off along New Road towards Beckley and disappeared round the bend in the road. The whole length of the road on the left hand side is fenced and she could not have got into the woods on that side but the right side is not fully fenced. A search was made of the woods on the right but she may have carried on and crossed over Clay Hill and got into the fields. I have notified neighbours on that side of the road to keep an eye out for her.

Tiga has been out tracking today but firstly the scent item was not good so we had to get another - this time Tiga did pick u0 the trail which went into the corn field as suspected and also as seen - he then came out of it at the crossroads where he was clipped by a car.. From here it was sketchy and noit clear as the heat and humidity beat Tiga but we will be back tomorrow.
The local community are rallying round which is always the best way

Good evening long day...had a drone out from drone SAR for lost dogs ...sadly Teal was not found ...we are hoping for a response from Jenny and her K9 tracker as having seen the lay of the land we feel a K9 tracker is how we are going to find her. We have been over whelmed by offers from volunteers to search but Teal is nervous and we are trying to keep it to a minimum ...we may need help if we are unable to secure a K9 tracker ...but as of tonight Teal is still MIA. Her owner Barbara and all of us at Independent Flatcoated Retriever Rehoming would like to thank you for all your support

Apparently a drone was launched a couple of hours ago. It is very dense woodland & vegetation there so the team are hoping to get a K9 Tracker sorted.

I've shared this to both of my pages on FB. Our first flatcoat used to have fits too. I'd suggest giving out mini flyers to everyone you see - whether they're searching or not. Then they'll have your number on them if they spot her.
