Many thanks to all the well-wishers toady. Trusty is really
settling down. Eating well, delighted to see all her visitors and
generally very well apart from the raw paw pads - she's not
even stiff today. We feel like the luckiest people alive! For light relief
you might enjoy this little snippet from Sarah Kennedy show (we certainly tried everything!) -  about 7 mins in
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00ctnk6
kids think this bit is so exciting - if only Trusty knew her fame!
As always, thank YOU so much, couldn't have done it without you and the kindness of so many friends and strangers,  best wishes, Michele, Charley, Eve AND Trusty xx

We are all home safely. Trusty was found by my sister Caz and niece Bronte at dawn sleeping on the terrace of the water-ski centre. We are so grateful to Clare who saw her near there at dusk the night before and to Steve who tried to get her and let us know where she was. Steve and Clare have donated the reward money to the Disabled People's Water Sports Centre in Wraysbury where Trusty was found. Little Trusty recognised my sister and niece after only a moment's hesitation and rolled over to be tickled (definitely Trusty then!) She was seen by an emergency vet nurse even before surgery opened and then pronounced well by the vet - only some painkillers for stiffness and sore paw pads and an antibiotic 'in case'. She was delighted to be reunited with her own family a few hours later, calm in the car and is overjoyed to be home. Now asleep in her favorite place under the kitchen table. We will get some pics posted tomorrow (our camera was lost in the crash). It's impossible to say how much we have appreciated the support of so many people, especially all those on this website. We feel very, very lucky indeed. Thank you everyone for SO MUCH kindness and support. Michele, Charley, Eve and Trusty xxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am so thrilled to hear that you poor Trusty has been found. These are such awful circumstances in which to lose your beloved dog. She must have been so frightened particularly at her young age. Hope she is o.k. when the vet checks her out and that she gets some real spoiling to get her over her ordeal. Also hope you are all feeling better. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spoke to owners sister who found Trusty this morning. Thank goodness for the angel at the Ski Centre who alerted them last night that they thought they had seen her..  Owners sister left home at 4 a.m  this morning to search area.  She found her under a bush, she is limping a little but apart from that just very quiet.  Mum and family are driving down now .  Everyone will sleep well tonight knowing Trusty is back at home where she should be.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hoping she isnt anywhere near the M25 now but ... how about contacting local taxi companies who do the run to Heathrow? they might see something on the approach roads..... as someone said there are reservoirs in the area - good place to go to ground .... really feel for Trusty's family - and Sue her breeder .... only know the area by driving through on the 25 .... but suspect lots of places to go and hide.... hope the morning brings news....Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I spent a few hours around the area earlier, looking for her and putting up posters. I saw some posters around the Wraysbury area and have added more where I felt there wasn't enough, especially on the back road between J13 and J14 and I have also put a few up around Stanwell Moor (although this is on the other side of the motorway). I gave posters to both the vets in Egham (those are the closest surgeries to Wraysbury) and they have said they will keep an eye out. Following on from an earlier suggestion I have also put posters up around the entrance to Thorpe Park and by both the bus stops that serve it (it is about a 10 minute drive from J13 but people who live in the area are very likely to take their children to Thorpe Park over the holidays as it is very close). With regards to the area (it isn't actually that close to WofW), there are a fair few houses, but they are surrounded by farmers fields (sheep), reservoirs and nature reserves. There is also a lot of woodland around the area and as has been mentioned, Stanwell moor (although this is over the opposite side of the motorway to Wraysbury, but there is only a mile between J13 and J14 and there are roundabouts at the top of each that she could have crossed). I hope she is found soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I dont know the area at all but it seems strange to me that she hasnt been sighted at all since Sunday.  Is there lots of private houses on the road by world of water, her last sighting place?  If so could she have been taken in by somebody?   Would it be possible to knock on a few doors to see if anyone has seen a BC being walked in the last couple of days, one that  wasnt there before>  i know I am clutching at straws but I just cant see her running too far.   All the rest of her litter mates are very people friendly and  she must have passed a doggy person who knows how to approach a strange dog by now...  I feel so helpless being so far away and I keep looking at her twin sister and thinking how I would feel it it was her missing.... Lots of love and thanks to everybody Sue and the Blackgold ColliesLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

when my sister was searching it seemed the direction was from M25 Junction 13 towards Wraysbury  B376 - this is where they have concentrated posters, including station etc. Please, anyone who will, keep looking for Trusty, thanks, Michele, Charley & EvexxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

we searched all around wraysbury looking for trusty the day after the accident. Then the day after that we put posters up all around waysbury, also we put a few posters up around Egham.(The town next to waysbury.) Also a man from world of water told us on the first day we were looking for trusty that he had seen her running down junction 13. He said him and his dad tried to catch her but she ran off. They also said she didn't look hurt. So that was good!....    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have had a look on Staines Moor with no trace although it's a big area. The positive news is that of the people walking dogs who I spoke to all said they had seen the posters and would keep an eye out (I couldn't see the posters myself)

I have a friend who travels the M25 daily and works at Feltham young offenders unit. There will be lots of people working there who will pass the area and surround. I have printed off posters and will get them to her later today. Some can go up on notice boards, so many many eyes looking. Good luck hope you find her soon. She will be very frightened and lying low, so may not have moved far.

I will have a look this p.m. on Staines Moor which is the area to the East  of the M25 between J13 & J14. However having read the earlier comments I wonder if I might be on the wrong side of the motorway. Could anyone with a bit more detail please advise?

in case anyone gets near it might be worth knowing we do call her Trusty but the kids also call her something like 'Truddy-wuddy' - sometimes 'Truddy-wuddy-wooo' and have a sort of rallying game where they call 'c'mon-a-heebala-sheebala!' (goodness knows why!) and she absolutely loves this. She is like her sister dog Belle and will usually go adoringly to absolutely anyone but no doubt is scared stiff now. It's 3am and seems so empty here without her. I will get someone to follow up the park suggestion. We were just passing through and don't know the area. Michele  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Glad to hear the children are out of hospital. I do hope you are now all alright.  Does Trusty know this area around Staines, or were you passing through? Is anyone able to poster Thorpe Park. Thousands of visitors now that kids are on school hols. Good luck, I hope she turns up soon.
