- I think it was all fate-when I first saw Molly at 10 weeks old I thought "I would love to have that dog" and luckily enough when she was 5 months the owner came to my door and asked if I would take her-YES PLEASE-I then was told about Jade, Molly's litter sister, who was left to roam and wander on her own, even when she was in season-never mind the busy road not far from us. I looked for her for 6 months and couldn't believe my luck when her 5th owner offered her to us. I promised her a good home and needless to say we were devastated when she went missing but I refused to give up hope and we got her home again. SHE WILL NEVER GET OUT OF MY SIGHT AGAIN. - Sadly the labourer had thrown the address away and my husband couldn't find it in the skip. We have the payphone number and the caller did say that she could see the Springer from the payhone so hopefully something good may still come of it. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Talk about coincidence again, we received a call today from a lady who's male Springer has been missing for 4 weeks from an area about 20 miles away from us (Walker in Newcastle upon Tyne). She had seen my ads in the newspapers and thought that the dissapearences could be linked. As fate would have it my husband received a call on Thursday evening from a young lady who did not want to reveal her name but told him that a family in Walker who are apparently notorious for stealing dogs have now got a Springer and have had it for at least 4 weeks. we have passed on their address to the male Springers family. Will keep you posted on any developments. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- The full story of how Jade got back is quite amazing! Owner had rung a few nights ago feeling very low -especially as someone was taking down her posters from her own fence. However she went out and put yet another replacement poster up-and thank god she did! The man who had found Jade tied up and crying 2 weeks earlier(and lived 50 miles away!) had started a new job collecting scrap for a company and he was sent out to collect from her neighbours address and saw the poster-he instantly recognised the dog as the one he was looking after! Also this man had a Springer Spaniel himself which is why he took good care of Jade-the reunion was very emotional with Jade going bolistic and owner in floods of tears! We do not know how Jade got so far from home but can only presume she had been stolen and dumped-thank goodness the man heard her crying when he stopped in the lay-by. They had not left her tied up in a visible place and no food or water were left with her-thankfully she had the common sense to alert a human and more importantly to trust a human again. The posters worked again!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Jade is back home. We can't believe how lucky we are. Travelled 50 miles to collect her from a man who had picked her up in Newbiggin-by-the-sea two weeks ago. Someone had tied her up to a fence with blue twine and she must have been there all night as he said that she was crying and barking and he found her at 6.30 a.m. He had put found details on a card and tied it to a telegraph pole. Funily enough he had seen the missing sign on our fence but couldn't ring straight away because he had no credit on his phone. The notice on my fence must have been torn down six times and thank goodness I kept replacing it. Dogged determination does pay. Jayne thank you for all your help.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Sadly it was not Jade. The dog that they had found had a lot more white on her after checking the doglost website, also a lot younger and I told them to post her on your website as a found dog. We received another call today saying that a couple had found a Springer and taken it to Bedlington Police. Rang the station and was told that the dog handed in was a male and it was at the cat & dog shelter, we shall be going to to the shelter tomorrow just in case.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Hi, We have had cases of a microchipped dog not being picked up by scanners before. Is it possible they could send you a photo-or even call jades name to see if she responds? Good news that the posters are working!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- I have been out tonight looking around the area and making sure that the posters are still there. Still asking everyone walking their dog to keep an eye out for Jade. People are now asking me if she is the one on all the posters, it just goes to show that they are being noticed. A lady left a message on my husbands mobile saying that she didn't want to get our hopes up but she had found a thin Springer in Durham. Unfortunately no chip showed up when scanned but I will call her as soon as my husband gets home. If it is not Jade I will give them your number perhaps someone is missing her, lets hope so.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Good luck Jade!- but it is not luck really-it is about covering all routes-the more determined you are the easier it is to get your baby back-keep going and never give up! Keep putting posters up-anywhere just do it.90% of dogs that get back to their homes come from posters-keep putting them up-some one knows where your dog is!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Thank you Jayne for the number, I will place an ad tomorrow. I have also changed the advert in our local paper because people are probably thinking that she is just wandering around on her own and not realised that someone must have her. Sorry to hear that someone else has lost their Springer. Good luck I hope you find her soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- I thought that if anyone had taken Jade in they would have thrown her out by now because you can't leave anything lying around where she is, she chews everything in her path. Plastic is her first choice, plastic is her second choice and plastic is her third choice. Jade is also a partially trained gun dog and perhaps that has something to do with her disappearence because my husband did notice somone watching him with binoculars training our two dogs in the fields. - Even though I am hopeful of JD being found alive I have contacted dead animal removal, nothing found, thank God. Someone who works for the council told me that any dead animal they find is just thrown into a black bin liner and dumped at the tip. This man has brought it up at the last council meeting that they should be provided with scanners as they could be just throwing anything away, the thought just terrifies you. - I looked through the pages and discovered two Labs that went missing from my area. I have not seen these Labs but if I hade seen them I would have taken them in straight away and informed the police. I will keep an eye out for these dogs and I still hope that we can find them and get them reunited with their owners. Going to e-mail the owners and keep looking for them. - Unfortunately Jade is not a scardy cat, she would go with anyone who opened a car door or asked her to tag along, nothing would fighten her. Even though she lives with four cats (the oldest one will be twenty at Christmas) she can tell the difference between them all and which one she can chase and which one that she doesn't dare to mess with. We also have a nine year old cross Springer who is not at all cross but just lovely. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Have spoken to Owner. This sighting sounds very positive and less than 5 minutes walk from her house. Have advised her of all the steps to take. Owner has also had a phone call from a youth saying if the reward was high enough she may get her dog back! Sounds like we are getting close on this dog! Also the dog warden is on standby with his scanner and willing to come out instantly if the owner spots her dog with this youth. Fingers crossed!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- I have placed posters all over the area,in shops, post offices, newsagents, general dealers,on lamp posts, all over the local parks,in the hospital, schools, informed the police, local dog homes, informed the local dog warden, placed ads in all of the local newspapers. We have phoned the dog shelter every day and visited as often as we can.I have asked numerous other dog walkers and all of my friends to look out for Jade but we haven't had one phone call regarding Jade. Surely a dog just can't dissapear without any trace. Does anyone have any other ideas as to what else I can do to have her reunited with us and her litter sister.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
