- Perhaps a police interview, might encourage this couple to own up as to where this dog is. If this couple claim to have found her and sold her on, surely they are admitting a crime! Why can they not be charged with this or at least interviewed? Police surely could confirm with gumtree as to whether an advert was placed by these people and phone records might confirm the person who responded to the advert. Yes it all takes effort. But it could be done.......

- I have spoken with owner and date lost is correct. Texas was staying with owner's friend when she escaped. Owner has been trying to find Texas since she went missing. Texas is reported missing to police and also to Petlog. Owner found out via numerous enquiries that a young couple found Texas and kept her (did not report to police or dog warden). This couple subsequently claim that they sold Texas via a Gumtree advert. They claim not to know details about who bought her other than a to a couple in east lothian with stables or enclosed grounds. The owner is totally devastated as she had Texas from a puppy and just wants to find her. As the owner had previously reported Texas missing to police, I suggested that she go back to police with this further information and ask for crime reference number (theft by finding). I will share the post on DogLost Central Scotland, Dotty's Army Scotland, Dougals Army, Harveys Army Scotland, Edinburgh & Lothian Lost Dogs and Missing Cats & Dogs in East Lothian facebook pages.Last edited: 2019-07-19 15:35:00 by Sandra Watt
