Ha, ha! Still in the garden - it has happened to all of us tortoise owners. They are so good at hiding. Every time we lost ours we used to get up early in the morning to see if he was on the move and had appeared on the lawn yet. (He did actually run away properly on several occasions but fortunately was always returned to us - once missing for 3 weeks).
