Definitely worth speaking to the police about the possibility that the dog was dumped from a stolen car. I presume if someones car was stolen they would also report the fact that  their dog was inside.

Good point Phoenix and entirely possible, I hadn't thought of that. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I presume it has been reported to the local dog warden. Maybe I'm a bit naive, but I suppose there is a tiny chance that the dog has been left by mistake. Maybe they stopped and took things out of the car and then didn't put the carrier back in by accident. I've never left any of my pets anywhere, but I've certainly left my shopping and my coat before now. It was on the news the other week about a family who left one of their children behind at the airport in Israel ! Has the finder checked with the police or Highways Agency in case anyone has phoned them about the dog ?

Poor little soul must have been so scared, how can anyone be so heartless. Suppose I should be thankful that they left her in a pet carrier and didn't just throw her out onto the hard shoulder.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

She was found abonded in a pet carrier on the hard shoulder of M11 in Harlow, Essex.  I've spoken to an Australian Silky Terrier breeder/rescue and alerted them of this found dog and directed them to the doglost site.  Thanks to the finder for putting her details on and good clear photos and to the rescue for being so kind.  Fingers crossed her owners are found soon.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
