Thanks jenferdog for the update, sorry I missed your call this morning, you must be relieved to have him home, Harry will most prob sleep for a week.  Would be great if we could have a REUNITED pic of Harry and even better if it was with his family.  Please send one to admin@doglost or by mobile phone (you have my number).  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks everyone, we are Harrys owners. I never realised how many wonderful people there were. Harry is here by my feet, my little shadow back again. BTW Harry's tail was docked before we even went to see him, wasnt our choice, he was bred from working stock. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

BRILLIANT NEWS.  Unfortunately I had left my mobile at home and when I got home from work there was a message left this morning to say he was HOME.  Well done to Jason and everyone who has helped in the search for Harry.  Give him a big hug and cuddle from everyone on DL and great to see you are going to stay on as a helper.  Welcome home lovely Harry.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jarvis Cocker you are quite right about the docking, I am pleased the law was changed as I have two beautiful Springers with lovely sweeping tails.  Both came to us just after the law was changed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Holly's mum, some of the working breeds are exempt if it is docked by a Vet before it is 5 days old. some breeders say the dogs are going to be workers and get around it this way, I think I have got that correct, my Spaniel is 9 and has a gorgeous tail.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Docking was banned for non working dogs, however gundogs & terriers bred for working homes can still be docked & the puppies must be identified by the vet who will issue a certificate to confirm this
Glad that he is home safeLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am so pleased you have your lovely Harry back, but a bit puzzled at him being only 12 months old and having a docked tail isn't that illegal now.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am so pleased to hear that you have got Harry back, I have been worried about him all on his own as I know how soft Spaniels are, give him a big hug from me and big licks from my cocker boy Jarvis. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Harry is back!!!   This is an extract of owners posting to Springthing   QUOTE:Good news!!!!! Thanks to the man of the hour, our very own Jason ,we have him back! He is fine, dirty and smelly, starving and thirsty and a bit clingy but absolutely fine. Three of us had split up round the Fairhaven part of Lytham putting up posters (still there, if anyone sees them can you take them down, only got three up because.............) got a phone call from Jase to say he had spotted Harry running out of the golf course at St Annes, Jase rang to say he had seen him, hubby ran to Jase, shouted and Harry ran up to him, daughter and I both ran back, and to say it was emotional was an understatement, We are so happy!! Thank you everyone for your support, once again I have to say what a wonderful band of people you are, especially my hero Jase and Izzie, Dog Lost is also a wonderful site. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Going to bath my baby now!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've had a reply from his owner he is still missing.  Thanks SueC and Sandobes for posting this info and others for your comments, Sue I'll email you the posters if you are able to help, greatly appreciated.   Have emailed owner some info on what to do, SCENTING INSTRUCTIONS and smaller posters with an A4 one. Have stressed the importance of returning to where they last seen him and to leave some clothing.  Fingers crossed he will be picked up soon and be back home with his family.  Come on Harry boy we want to see you in the BLUE.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner, please keep us updated with any developments. If Harry is hiding out at the Golf Course you may need to contact one of the Co-ordinators or Head Office for scenting instructions. Poster as much as you can so that everyone knows he's missing and can contact you if they see him. I hope you have him home soon. Thank you Sue for your message. I'm sure if Harry is still on the run tomorrow the owners will be very grateful of any help you can give.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Harry ran off the beach at Lytham near to Fairhaven Lake at about 11.30. He has been spotted by numerous people, running backwards and forwards across the road. Someone reported him running along the railway track by the golf course, then he was spotted by the club house at the Links Golf course, near to Pontins. Owners have spent 7 hours searching for him but no joy. The people who saw him say he looked distressed like he was looking for his owners. He is a but timid with strangers so nobody has been able to grab him. He was last seen on the Links golf course around 4.00pm this afternoon. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Harry ran off the beach at Lytham today, near to Fairhaven Lake. It
was about 11.30, and he was with my daughter. We were in Manchester
and he had been missing from about 2 hours by the time we got there.
he had been spotted by numerous people, running backwards and forwards
across the road, someone reported him running along the railway track
by the golf course, then he was spotted by the club house at the Links
Golf course, near to Pontins. We spent 7 hours searching for him but
no joy. I cant bear to think about him running around out there on his
own. Where will he sleep, he will be so hungry and thirsty by now. He
has been running for miles. The people who saw him say he looked
distressed like he was looking for us. He is a but timid with
strangers so nobody has been able to grab him. He was last seen on the
Links golf course around 4.00 this afternoon. We have rung the police,
the dog warden, put a posting on Dog Lost and given our number out to
hundreds of people who we have seen. I am so worried for him, he is
still a baby really and he loves me so much. I am crying so hard,
please if you live in that area can you keep a look out for me, and if
anyone has any other suggestions where I can contact I will be very
grateful. He is chipped and has a collar and tag.
