- Welcome home Dumbo!! Thanks Andrea for your call this morning, it was great news to hear Dumbo had been caught and was okay. Well done everyone involved, I know there was a lot of searching and postering going on! Hope Dumbo is very happy in his new home - now that he can get back there and settle in properly!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Brilliant news that this very precious boy has been found and, seemingly, none the worse for his mini adventure! Well done to everyone who worked so hard to get this handsome boy back home. It was also lovely to hear that he even managed to wag his tail when he was finally caught - bless him! I'm sure he will be as right as rain with a bit of extra fuss, TLC and a few decent meals inside him. Welcome home Dumbo!

- FANTASTIC NEWS! DUMBO HAS BEEN FOUND ALIVE AND WELL! He was picked up this morning in the Writtle College area - not too far from where he disappeared. He's lost a bit of weight, but apart from that appears to be in good health. He even managed to wag his tail when he saw Jodie! Thanks to everyone for all your help! We're just off to see him - will post later to let you know how he isLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Dumbo has been found and caught.
He has just been caught 10.00 Am after a day and a half free. He was cold and wet but 3 people caught him near where the search has been centred. A massive thank you to everyone who has helped search for him, offered support or encouragement and to everyone we pestered with requests for sightings.
I beleieve he is now off to be fed, warmed and fussed over. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18 - 2008-08-24 07:51 B30

- As CJ has said, if anyone is local and can put some posters up....please help, need to get everyone aware! Andrea and kennel staff and owners are doing great, loads of posters being printed off to go round the area and another search tonight. Suggested they see if any of his bedding is left at the kennels and put that in a safe spot near to where he went missing from. Come on Dumbo show yourself so you can get back to your lovely new home. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- We scoured the area at first light, in the hope that he would emerge, but to no avail. A group of volunteers from Greyhound Walks helped us search the area thoroughly for a good few hours, but there haven't been any sightings at all. We have put food down in the area where he was last seen, in the hope that he may return later in search of food, but as he doesn't know the area we're not sure that he will. We're printing off loads of posters and are hoping that he may emerge once it's a bit quieter - will camp out again tonight. Thank you all for your advice and kind wordsLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- It think as only with new home for 2 days scenting may not help. Hopefully smelly food ( pilchards)might lure him across to you but it will take time and patience- do you know any past history that may help?? If not might be worth checking at the place you got him from- they might even know some of his favourite foods/toys etc- something familiar to him Poster like mad to make EVERYONE aware. - Please help! Dumbo finally found his forever home at the age of 9, two days ago. He was settling in very well, but when his new owner took him out for a walk, she tripped and accidently dropped his lead and being a very nervous boy, he bolted. He was last seen in daylight hours in the field on the right at the far end of Paradise Road, Writtle. We have been searching for him for several hours, and we are sure that he is still in the area, as we heard his collar jingle and fleetingly caught sight of him in the same field. He is extremely nervous and won't go to people that he doesn't know, so if any one does see him, PLEASE contact me asap, as we have someone camped out in the area. He was wearing a very distinctive blue harness, collar and tag. Thank you!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Just got in. No sightings at all today - just don't know where to look as all the wonderfu volunteers have covered a massive area between them all. Just as we were leaving after deciding to call it a day, Jodie got a call from a lady whose house backed onto a field in Paradise Road. She said that both her and her neighbour had heard a dog howling and it wasn't one that she recognised. When she went into the garden and called out 'Dumbo', the howling stopped. She said it could be nothing, but it goes to show that the posters do work! We turned around and went back to the field, but the howling had stopped and we searched the area as best we could in the dark, but couldn't find anything. :( Will re-check the area in the morning when it's light. We've put quite a few posters up around the immediate and surrounding area, spoken to taxi firms, bus drivers, milkmen and postmen, amongst others. Tomorrow we'll concentrate on flooding the area with even more posters. Jodie's going to go back at 5.30 tomorrow morning on the off chance that he might re- surface, especially if he's hungry. Thank you so much to everyone who has given up so much of their time to help search for Dumbo - it really is wonderful to know that you care. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
