- I certainly don`t think it`s your fault that your cat is missing. I have had cats for nearly 20 years, so know how you must be feeling very upset which of course I understand. And many dog owners on this site have been reunited with their pets due to the volunteers advice; cats too. I am even now more than willing to take advice from other cat owners. And have done. We just reiterate what you may have already done to find your cat, but we are all human and may miss things. And stating how other cats have been reunited can give hope too those whose cats are missing. Hope Smokey is home very soon. Paws xd.Last edited: 2019-09-01 12:18:49

- Dear Jenkins as this appears to be the only way to communicate I just wanted to say I found her comment offensive hence my response. She made me feel as though it’s my fault my cat is missing and that I haven’t done enough to find him. As you can see from my advert I have done lots of things to help find him. Telling me stores of how other cats have been found doesn’t help.
Many thanks - 2019-08-30 14:02 Sandra Watt
- JESSD ..I find yourcomment offensive stating that Janiejewel's post is unhelpful. Janiejewel like most of is a volunteer who spends lots of her time offering advice on individual posts and she only wants to help reunite owners and their pets. Over the years she has commented on numerous cat posts offering good advice and is delighted when her advice is followed and the owners and cats are reunited. I hope that Smokey is home very soon.Last edited: 2019-08-30 15:53:22 by Sandra Watt

- Janiejewel I’m an experienced cat owner and have also heard plenty of stories, so your post is unhelpful. But thanks anyway. Last edited: 2019-08-30 12:27:03 by JESS D

- Firstly please follow ALL the RELEVANT advice on Kit Kat`s post. His page no. 147869/ Just because you can`t see cat doesn`t mean they aren`t around. A cat that was posted as missing for THREE MONTHS was found only ten minutes form his home. Someone had been feeding him fresh chicken. Another cat that went missing for SIX MONTHS had decided to move in with an elderly lady. When the lady passed away he was reunited with his owner via his microchip. He was still in the local area. Cats can be very elusive. So you never know. Ask family, friends, and neighbours to share as well as DL.
Twitter too. "SPREAD THE WORD" Paws xd. - 2019-08-29 17:38 Helen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge

- Sorry to see that SMOKEY is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (147874)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
- DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
