Have spoken to dog warden and he is aware of this missing dog- nothing reported as found to him. Advised owners to get posters out to all areas and I have ordered small flyers for them to hand out. Suggested contact taxi firms- refuse collectors and local schools to help extend the search. Hoping for a write up in KM although it is close to deadline for this week. Details have gone out on Kent Police messaging system for this area. CJLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The 'picked up' is not a definate as may have come as a prank phone call stating ( from another teenager) that someone picked the dog up- lots to get sorted on this one and waiting for owner to get back to me- details so far have come via owners father. if 'picked'up info incorrect then will remove as can be misleading.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dog that go missing with the lead still attached often get caught up in the undergrowth and are unable to free themselves. Please go back to the area she went missing from and thoroughly search any wooded areas and all hedge bottoms.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have spoken to owners- Molly bolted while being walked by a teenage family friend. She still has extending lead attached which made her run even more. they are having trouble trying to locate kennls etc via council which are giving them different details. i will phone thanet tomorrow and try to get more details and also get this dog onto kent police watch scheme. if dog has been caught and someone has kept her and not notifed anyone this is theft by finding.  Firstly inform the Dog warden ASAP (if this has not already been done), who you will be able to contact at your council offices. They will tell you where stray dogs are taken to. Contact the rescue kennels and give them a poster of Molly.  Posters can be downloaded if you click on POSTER 1 on this page. Posters (In plastic folders- opening down the way) need to be put up in the area where she went missing, or where there have been sightings, if any - on lamp posts, entrances to parks and strategic places in the area where she went missing,  like at the start and finish of tracks and paths in parks, dog bins, at vets, pet shops, garages, pubs, carry-out food shops, post offices,  local shops who often allow postcards in the window, supermarkets who have notice boards, community centres, youth clubs, schools etc. You can ask the postman, milkman, taxi drivers, street cleaners, bin men (even put poster on bins), to take some flyers and hand them out on their rounds. You can ask school bus drivers and kids on the bus, or if you have kids on the bus, get them to hand out flyers at school.  Deliver flyers to houses, businesses & pop through letterboxes. Hand out flyers to people in the street, especially dog walkers. Put posters or flyers in car windows. Local rescue centres and kennels, also police offices need checking regularly and preferably visited in person, by owner or someone who knows Molly, because your dog may not be recognised by other people. Get some media coverage if you can, by asking the local radio station to broadcast Molly as missing and put an ad in the local newspaper with a picture of her. It is important to get posters out there and seen by as many people as possible.  Good luck. Hope she is found very soon.                      Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
