Thanks Lainey. Owners have checked out this found dog and unfortunately not Syd this time. They called the council who checked straight away and found that the dog had been claimed by its owners. Syd's owners are very grateful that you are all still looking and cross matching against found dogs.

Unfortunately owners have still had no news on Syd. They have had calls from people re. Yorkies but none have been Syd - good however that people are aware and calling. If anyone is local and can put up any posters that would be a help and owner would be grateful - she is desperate to find Syd.

Owners have already done a lot - contacted all local dog wardens, vets etc. Have postered and done flyers round the area too although if anyone is local they be grateful for any help as they are desperate to find little Syd. Since she went missing at 7.30 on Friday, there has just been one sighting of her at 9.30 on the same day. Owners have an ad going in the paper tonight for a week so hopefully that will bring some more calls. Have advised on scenting and owners are going to give that a go. They have no internet access at the moment so I will post more detailed scenting info to them although have talked her through what she needs to do. Fingers crossed Syd is home soon.

Hopefully Syd might be not too far away. Perhaps someone has taken her in. A wee doggie like this surely cannot be wandering around on her own.Please follow advice below.Firstly inform the Dog warden (if this has not already been done), who you will be able to contact at your council offices. They will tell you where stray dogs are taken to. Contact the rescue kennels and give them a poster of Syd.  Posters can be downloaded if you click on POSTER 1 on this page. Posters (In plastic folders) need to be put up in the area where she went missing, or where there have been sightings, if any - on lamp posts, entrances to parks and strategic places in the area where she went missing,  like at the start and finish of tracks and paths in parks, dog bins, at vets, pet shops, garages, pubs, carry-out food shops, post offices,  local shops who often allow postcards in the window, supermarkets who have notice boards, community centres, youth clubs, schools etc. You can ask the postman, milkman, taxi drivers, street cleaners, bin men (even put poster on bins), to take some flyers and hand them out on their rounds. You can ask school bus drivers and kids on the bus, or if you have kids on the bus, get them to hand out flyers at school.  Deliver flyers to houses, businesses & pop through letterboxes. Hand out flyers to people in the street, especially dog walkers. Put posters or flyers in car windows. Local rescue centres and kennels, also police offices need checking regularly and preferably visited in person, by owner or someone who knows Syd, because your dog or it's breed may not be recognised by other people. Get some media coverage if you can, by asking the local radio station to broadcast Syd as missing and put an ad in the local newspaper with a picture of her. It is important to get posters out there and seen by as many people as possible.Good luck. Hope she is found very soon.
