- Presume all outbuildings checked in your new property? Poster around new area, and ask former neighbours to poster around their area too, in case he is trying to find his way back to his previous home. (Cats dislike change of any kind. They like familiar scents) Ask around, especially those with children, as they can be very observant where animals are concerned. Someone maybe feeding Buttons thinking he is a stray in the new area. Poster in shops; post offices too. Hand out as many posters as you can; where, and when you can. Consider posting a LOST CAT ad in a National newspaper too. Paws, and fingers xd.
