ERNIE UPDATE: Having been found almost exactly where he went missing Ernie is home.

It has since come to our notice that Ernie has been ‘looked after’ since his disappearance on Sunday morning. The weather on Sunday was vile, very wet, windy and the ground underfoot was incredibly muddy. It continued in to the night Sunday and there’s been plenty of rain since.

Despite this, Ernie is pristine! Not a tiny bit of mud, leaf or twig caught in his hair. He was dry as a bone and no signs of fatigue!!

I have spoken to the man who found Ernie and he believes that Ernie had just been evicted from a car in front of him.

We both believe that the thoughts, prayers and shares and interest generated locally in Ernie made him ‘too hot to handle’

THANK YOU to everyone who shared his post and helped get Ernie home, where he belongs. 💕💕

Ernie has now been missing for 26 hours. Sandringham Estate have been in touch to confirm that they are displaying this poster in their Visitor Centre, Museum, Gift Shop and Cafe. My husband thinks he may have run towards Anmer/ Hillingdon so any eyes that way would also be appreciated. The Game Keeper at Anmer has been alerted.

Still no sign of Ernie. His poster is all over Facebook. Will put posters up around locality tomorrow. Hoping that he’s warm and safe somewhere with someone waiting for vets to open in the morning.
