- altho' Marianne - in the Sheffield Dog owner's defence - I often see a Dog reported as Missing or Stolen being shared on a Page or Group - then when I visit the Owner's Fbook profile - there are NO Public 'Appeals' for Help in Finding their Dog - many owners do not perhaps regularly use Facebook & forget all about altering their 'privacy' options ?

- thankyou Jenkins - I had explained that there are 2 differing Crime Nos. & advised to check which one they had.
She Was reportedly in Her Kennel - but when her owner arrived - the Kennel Door was open along with the Property's Gate - 2019-10-31 12:40 Sandra Watt
- #stopthetheft ..sorry but Dog Lost cannot accept incident number ..it must be crime reference number. However some police authorities will not issue crime reference number without proof of a crime being committed :(Last edited: 2020-04-17 14:18:02 by Will

- I know, alleged owner was named , and looked on her FB page but could not see any posts referring to a missing dog.
- 2019-10-31 12:33 #stoppettheft
- Thankyou Marianne - 'people' are concerned - having read varying, differing details - as to IF the person who scanned Her 'chip HAD Seen / been provided with - proof of current 'ownership' as in Vet Records, proof of Address etc.
& HAD the Female been reported as Missing at all by her worried family ? ...
is it all just a 'coincidence' ? but Wiggles owners really need to know it is NOT their Missing /Stolen Girl
IF her'Chip is on a Database, reportedly with NO Name - (Owner ? Dog Name?) then WOULD there have been a Contact Number ?

- Jenkins - Does a Crime Ref have a particular 'format' plz ?
as opposed to an incident No.
I am aware of the owner having A No. but am uncertain of it being a Crime No.
thankyou Last edited: 2019-10-31 12:27:46 by #stoppettheft - 2019-10-31 12:18 Sandra Watt
- If wiggles has a crime reference number can this be emailed to stolen@doglost.co.uk to have status changed to stolen.

- It was Reported to the Group that a Very Similar Female had been FOUND (perhaps only recently had Pups ) (Had been Posted by Finder to Lost and Found Pets S35 SHEFFIELD area) - yes, miles away - but Stolen Dogs DO travel Miles ! ..
Finder wrote that SHE was 'Chipped in 2014 but No name ( I am presuming No OWNER, rather than DOG's NAME? ) & ( with no explanation as to why they thought it - ) Vets said they thought She had been passed on - NO REPLY from Contact No, which was on the 'chip .
Wiggles WAS 'Chipped in 2014 too - is this a Co-incidence ?
PLZ PLZ Does ANYONE have the Name of the VET who was handed the Stray Female & checked the 'chip & DID they Accept Proof of Ownership - as in Vet Records, Proof of Address , (If She did have Pups - then surely a Scan was done etc? ) when the Owner came forward to claim her ?
Was this Vet the RSPCA Vet ? there are- as is often the case - differing comments all over facebook groups & pages ! ( I even read 3 differing names as to WHO Her owner was !) this is NOT in ANY WAY saying that the People who Claimed the Stray ARE NOT Her Rightful Owners - but for Wiggles' Family's sake - this needs to be verified, please ?
(& it has emerged that Wiggles' previous owner had a NOTE on Her (Old Address) Door from the RSPCA )
Wiggles' family are trying to ascertain the contents of the Letter are related to the Female in S35 . Last edited: 2019-10-31 12:29:01 by #stoppettheft - 2019-10-30 16:59 Sharon - Social Media Volunteer

- Sorry to see that WIGGLES is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (150166)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
- DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
