- What great news, I'm delighted! I was worrying for him last night with all the fireworks which went on locally for hours -that's probably what traumatised him (but also encouraged him to come back home!). Really pleased for you - and yes! ground him permanently!Last edited: 2019-11-03 18:59:56 by Gaynor

- When neighbours are searching their outbuildings make sure you are present as some cats will hide behind an object within, especially if timid. Cats can stay very still and quiet too. They are renowned for it. Take a good walk around the area, holding an object with his scent on, and rattle some Dreamies. When looking for Huey use the same deodorant/perfume you use on a day to day basis as he will recognize the scent. And your the one he trusts Cats have a very strong of scent from birth. Bear in mind too that cats have very flexible spine so they can squeeze into very small spaces (About 3" wide 7cm) And some cats even smaller like one of my cats did. So has he managed to climb into a partially opened window and is now trapped? Leave no stone unturned. Also when searching take with you a squeaky toy as it may attract his attention. If all else fails, I would borrow a cat trap form Cat Protection for a small donation. I think. Place inside an object with his scent on, and place in the garden near the door. Paws xd.

- Thank you. I'm in Hartshill so not too far away and will keep my eyes peeled. If not already done so, perhaps get some posters on lampposts and through doors - people may well have seen him but not realised he's lost and wouldn't necessarily think to look online to see if he's missing. If he's not used to being out then chances are he's very close by and won't have strayed far, he's probably hiding. If you've not done so, go out at dead of night and stand still to call him repeatedly. Don't move around calling as he will not be able to work out where you are and will get confused trying to follow your voice. Sit still in one place and call then wait for a while. This technique will work if he's nearby. Hope he's home soon. Last edited: 2019-11-01 17:59:36 by Gaynor

- I'm in ST4 but it's a large area - could you advise location please?

- Assume house cat? Indoor cars that go missing will usually be feeling very anxious being out of their comfort zone which is in their own homes with people they trust; their owners. And they tend to hide close by, or some may have adventures in someone`s garden. A door he has access to open wide, and stand aside, (Don`t block his entrance or he may see it as a "Threat" and run away). Put some tuna or chicken in his dish, and place it about twice the width of the open door. (Dreamies too) Place his UNWASHED blanket into a clean container along with your scent too. Leave it about 1 to 2 metres from the open door. When you see him approach the open door, I wouldn`t try to grab him or he may run off again, if anything like my cat. Poster around the area, and post flyers through doors too. Many missing cats are found in sheds because they like the smell of wood. Paws xd.
