- So sorry to read this last update on Jewel. I hope her surgery goes well and wish her a speedy recovery. Poor girl. There have been so many fatalities with fireworks this year. They are definitely getting much louder and for animals with their sensitive hearing the shrieks must cause them so much pain. Just hoping that the petitions to get them banned except for public displays gets passed soon. Prayers for you Jewel xx

- From Jewel's Facebook Page - Jewel's Journey To Recovery - unfortunately further looking at her leg her paw is to badly damaged And the best way to help her heel and put her through less stress is to amputate her back leg she goes in for her op tomorrow. I hope all goes well tomorrow Jewel.

- From Jewel's Facebook page - Jewel is at the vets with a nasty wound to her rear left paw and is dehydrated but apart from that she felt strong, she has to stay there tonight. Get well soon Jewel
