I gave 2 posters to farmer with horse livery on little back road night before last + another to some walkers I spoke to (by Leipzig plantation close to where she was sighted) & was up looking in the wood by Oliver's Castle tonight but no joy. Owner left jersey & treats in some isolated farm buildings & I believe is going back tomorrow to see if anything is disturbed or Dotty is there...  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

My o/h has been up there to-day he was amazed at the amount of dog walkers , horse riders & walkers were not sure exactly where Dotty was seen but would have thought we would have had another sighting...although more posters needs to go up (we have another one now updated with new sighting so if any one wants one let me know)  o/h gave out aload of posters to people he saw ...Owners helpers need to contact local farms etc (we have already snet out some) and I have contacted local DW.

No sighting of Dotty but seems positive sightings...spoke to many dog walkers there is still a laminated poster there and owner lives not far away ...what we need now is for owner to scent and posiible put a trap in when we have polted where.
Lynn's advice is paramount!

Pretty definate sighting today off A361 to Roundways. Near White Horse.   Lady is 99.9% it was Dotty.  Also seen by other people in same area this p.m.  Reynard hot on trail out there too.  Spoke to owner suggested details of poster is sent to all farms within about 5 mile radium of siting asking them to check Barns and sheds and outbuildings.  Possible that she has a safe place somewhere dry.  Given owner scenting advice too.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No more sightings of Dotty although owner has had some calls from Newbury and Salisbury but discounted, owner is very proactive and has put Dotty in most of the newspapers in Wiltshire ,Berkshire etc. The last sighting of Dotty unfortunatly the lady that spotted her running down a corn field, called after a week of seeing her, so Dotty could have moved on by now and is very open countryside. Owner needs help if it was Dotty we need to get her noticed by saturating the area with posters alerting all the Vets ,Dotty is microchipped but we still need all the rescues to know about her... a lot of ground needs to be covered so so any one that can help out please make contact or print off those poster THANKS.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

up date from owner: Thank you so much for Dottie?s entry in the Country man Weekly paper. We had a possible sighting of her towards Pewsey and have put posters up in that area and contacted local vets and shops. An advert and story have been run in our local paper the Gazette and Herald. Liz has also put and advert in the Ridgeway Rider November edition and is now in touch with the papers in Salisbury and Newbury. Let?s hope someone spots her and brings her home. Liz is also in good contact with all the dog wardens in the area and surrounding counties. Thank you for all the help your group has been able to offer Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is another photo in the system some where as soon as it is on we will get flyers done so that they can be distributed far and wide, if there are Scouts,  local free paper etc they could perhaps be included that way you will cover a vast area. loopylurcher if you speak to owner ask her for her address so that I can send the flyers to her she has my phone number so just get her to leave a message please.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for update loopyLurcher I would suggest scenting to be done by owner where she ran off from, (Smelly food like Pilchards, socks etc and owner's diluted urine)  if details are required then please ask.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken to owner, this is unlike Dotty to runoff and be missing for so long, being a pointer she has ran after game and came back within hours before, so the thinking is she has got her self lost as this is a huge wooded area and country side impossible to walk and search entire area or she could be caught up somewhere unable to come home unfortunatly, owner has done scenting where last seen and postering also going to contact local radio and newspapers so we are hoping that someone will have seen her and a poster and give the owner a call.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I haven't really done anything much but went down to where Dotty went missing this eve with some posters and spoke to friends of owner who seems to be contacting all the right people and asked them to get her to update the info on here. Apparently she is chipped which is good news but no sightings at all since she ran off last Thursday which isn't. However there is a LOT of woodland in area so difficult to see dog in hiding but local landowners/gamekeepers etc informed. Dotty is unlikely to go to anyone or allow herself to be caught so will poster everywhere I can so if anyone sees her they can ring owner. I do hope she is found safely and soon.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

LoopyLucher you are a star thanks so much for your help!. I have also text and left the owner my land line no, but in any case it is local people and their knowledge that she needs and people postering like mad. It would be nice to know what has been done so far so she gets all the advice that is needed and so nothing is missed .Has she had a sighting if so she may need to do scenting, has all the local people been informed she may need small posters so that it can be posted through all the doors and what about the media, radio, newspaper etc and any chance of a better photo? Hope she has good news very soon.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I spoke to owner on Friday on mobile in same area and she couldn't hear me very well either but did tell her about Doglost & to poster like mad + contact Bath cats & dogs home & the kennels Kennet DW uses. I spoke to my vet today and they have Dotty's details & on her local homemade posters there is a new mobile no. so will write it down tonight & send you pm... I'll try to call her from landline later as that might help. I will put some posters up when have a mo but time is v tight atm.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken to owner very very bad mobile connection...so conversation difficult to say the least. But I managed to get that Dotty has run off on a walk in a wooded area, then the phone dropped out as there is no land line listed or an email I will send a text, but it was obvious owner has not heard of doglost has not a clue who I was and what I was on about so can only assume some one else put poor Dotty's details on here PLEASE local helpers get postering and if you know the owner ask her to update doglost with what has been done and where she went missing etc, thanks and GOOD LUCk!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Glad you got Dotty on here after my call on Friday. Have you checked the hunt kennels, Chippenham & Kennet dog wardens, Sarsen kennels + Bath Cats & Dogs? Suggest sending poster to all those + putting some up in Bowood (Hotel + Golf club etc) as she might have crossed the road. Can't help as much as I'd like as swamped with work & looking after my Mum but will print some posters off and put up where I can. Hope she's home safely soon x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
