Update on Ikarus.
He’s very poorly and lost almost half his body weight, good news there are no broken bones and his blood work is all good.
The vets are keeping him in and everyday he’s getting stronger and brighter. It’s sad to see him in such a bad way but so thankful that he was found, I don’t think he would have lasted another day.
Fingers crossed he’ll pull through and be back home in a few days.
Thanks again to you all. 😀

Hi Everyone,
Great news Ikarus has been found and taken to the Vets at Ringwood, he might have been hit by a car so they are going to check him over and keep him in for the day to warm him up.
Thank you for all your advice and support, I’ll update you all when I know more...

Cats that haven`t neutered can stop away from their home for a short while. Paws xd.

Sorry I forgot to mention Col`s details in my post below. cola is a House cat (Now reunited)

Here is the full advice,

Check all outbuildings THOROUGHLY as some cats will hide in. or behind an object within, especially if timid. And cats can stay very still, and quiet. They are renowned for it. Not too late to re-check all outbuildings as they can survive without food for weeks. They will lick on relevant items to keep themselves hydrated . such as condensation on windows, and around openings on fridges and freezer doors. They are also attracted to sheds, because they like the smell of some woods, especially pine I believe. Bear in mind too that cats have very flexible spines so they can squeeze into very small spaces (About 3" wide (7cm). So has Ikarus managed to climb into a window and is now trapped? Sometimes they are unable to get out; depending on the drop. Check any decking too. Empty contents of the hoover onto the garden as his scent will be there. Put some tuna or chicken in his dish, and call him. Just because you cant see a cat, doesn`t mean they aren`t around. Place his UNWASHED blanket into a clean container along with your scent too. Leave in thew garden in a sheltered spot, or hang on the washing line if dry; used towels too. Wipe his scent on your garden fences, gates, doors too; anything leading up to the garden. Try a squeaky toy as it may attract his attention. Take a good walk around the area, holding an object with his scent on, and rattle some Dreamies. Someone may be feeding him. (Common problem) A cat that was posted as missing for THREE MONTHS was found only ten minutes from his home by the owners brother. A woman had been feeding him fresh chicken every day. Another cat posted as missing for SIX MONTHS had decided to move in with an elderly lady, but when the lady passed away he was reunited with his owner via his microchip. When it`s nightfall, and you are searching use a strong torch as the light will reflect a cats eyes. Poster around the area, and post flyers through doors too. Ask around especially those with children, as they can be very observant where animals are concerned .Post in shops; post offices too. Hand out as many posters as you can; where, and when you can Post a LOST CAT ad in a National newspaper in case Ikarus has got into a vehicle which isn`t uncommon for cats to do. Also is there a dominant cat in the area? As sometimes they will chase a less dominant out of it`s own territory. The chased will not return until they think it`s "Safe" enough for them to do so. But they can sometimes become lost, and disorientated. When searching use the same deodorant say that you use on day to day to day basis as he will recognize he scent. Ans your the one he trusts. Paws xd.Last edited: 2019-11-21 12:08:40
