- Thank you menaviana ...from Meeko's facebook group "Meeko is home safe . No sightings since the day he went missing but a possible sighting yesterday morning on the beach . Plans were in place for meeko however an early morning call to me alerted me to a dog howling in a garden. Natasha headed straight over and Meeko was there very upset but happy to see mum. The house is an empty property with high walls so we can only assume the estate agents may of been and unknowingly locked him in . He has possibly been there all the time but no water or food and his crying and pacing alerted the neighbour who rang me early this morning . Meeko is now home safe after his 3 day adventure . Always check your gardens as you never know if a stray dog or cat has managed to get in"

- From Meeko's page... Mandy Butler & the Lost Dog Trapping Team, Search & Rescue Network...Meeko went missing on a walk in whitby when he was spooked and chewed through his lead. Lots of sightings were coming in but sadly people were chasing him and it was pushing him further away. I watched in dismay yesterday as so many people ignored our requests to stop and carried on chasing. At one point he returned to his owners car but was again chased. Due to the fact there are fireworks planned for this evening we knew we had to act quickly. Plans were put in place last night to secure him this morning . The family arrived at dawn with a bbq and the other family dog and they were aware to cook and sit and wait but no movement towards meeko. They set up on the ravine where they parked the day he bolted and waited. Meeko arrived almost immediately and watched . Food was cooked car was open and his family were waiting. Meeko made the decision he was going home so jumped into the car with them and is now getting warmed up at home where his delighted family are making him comfortable. Please remember when we say dont chase we say it for the dogs safety and the family struggle to understand why he wont come to them. Yiannis Cole and Natasha Cole listened and now have meeko home safe. Yesterday they didnt understand but we ensured they knew before they arrived this morning and they pulled it off perfectly. Plan was put in place by 6.30 am and meeko was home by 8.30 am
