So pleased to read that Poppy is back home with her family, but what a lovely weekend she will have had in the Lake District while you were frantically looking for her.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for the lovely updated Ang and Pam, what a story.  At least she has been getting looked after and spoilt rotten, lucky girl getting taken on holiday.  What are our dogs like we worry mad about how they are when they are missing and all the time a lot of them are living the life of riley. Lovely photo's Ang, thanks for uploading them and great you are staying on as a helper.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I was just over the moon when  i got the call from Angie tonight to say Poppy was home !! Its just the best news ever !! What Angie forgot to say in her post was that the people that were looking after Poppy took her away with them for the weekend to the Lake Distict. So while poor Angie was frantically driving round pounds, postering and staking out areas where she thought Poppy might be this weekend ........... Poppy was enjoying a nice break away at the Lakes lol. Angie will be staying on as a helper and Poppy will never be left without her collar and tag on again.Welcome home gorgeous Poppy and stay safe from now on xxx Pam Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I sincerely cannot believe our luck, Poppy was found on our street but passed on to somebody to look after who lived miles away! They took her to a vets to be scanned but her microchip had been missed! It wasn't until they came across one of my posters that they were able to get in touch. She is now back in her bed after a nice tea, as if nothing happened. I am soooo relieved and thank you so much everyone for your help and concern (especially you pam!) cant wait to have a good nights sleep with my dog at the foot of the bed again! EVERYONE WHO'S DOG IS MISSING - POSTER POSTER POSTER!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Angie, sorry you have had no news of Poppy yet. Please do keep up with the posters as someone must have seen or know something about Poppy's whereabouts ! Its good that you managed to visit all the local pounds today.I know its a bit far out but  I am sending a poster off to Mount Pleasant kennels just in case.  Hoping you get some news of her very soon xx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Angie, thanks for the update and uploading a second photo.  Have sent you the posters again with both pics on.  The postman is an ideal person to help in your search for Poppy.  I deliver a local free paper and know a lot of the dogs in the houses and when a new one arrives.  Good luck you are doing a grand job.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

well, i've visited all the centres today marina's, springfields and oaknshaws. we also discovered a fleet kennels in bradford which we visited, however  there wasn't any joy. we staked out the parks and the estate near us all afternoon. it was glorious weather so there was plenty to check over, people out in their gardens and dogs all over the park. we had one false alarm but we are still no closer. no calls and no sightings. i've postered a few more places, the schools and medical centres. Also heres a good one, our postman is used to seeing poppy as she sleeps in the front window seat, he has the advantage of daily door to door and also is very aware of who has dogs and who doesnt so he is onboard with the search now. thanks for the poster/fliers i'll put them to good use.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

so sorry to see you have lost Poppy. It is vital that you poster poster poster as much as you can to raise as much public awareness as you can and hopefully someone will come forward with a sighting of her and you will also make her too hot to handle  !! You must also contact your dog wardens and all local Stray kennels report that poppy is missing and send them in a poster of her. By law they only have to keep  dogs taken in to them for 7 days and then they can either re home or send them on to a rescue which may be away from the area. Also try and visit your stray kennels in person to make sure Poppy is not there. Good luck and i hope there will be some news of Poppy very soon xx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Angie, download and print off Poppy's poster by clicking on Poster1 above. You must log in to do this. Distribute and stick posters up everywhere you can, to get her profile out there and seen. Put little flyers through all the doors in the neighbourhood. Call the dog Warden, who you will find at the local council offices and call all the local rescue kennels.Try to get some media coverage by asking a local radio station to put her on the lost and found pets slot, and also put an ad with a picture of her in the local paper.Good luck, I hope she is found soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Still no sign of my little lass - I am absolutely heart broken. there is no evidence at all of how she escaped. The only thing we found out is that the neighbours met her in the street about an hour after she had gone unbelievebly even though they immediately recognised her they walked on! Just about to turn in to my second night without having any idea where she is or who's hands she's in and it's awful. The postering has been manic all police stations garages shops and resteraunts in the area have pictures up of Poppy all wardens and centres have been contacted and we just keep trawling for sightings. this weekend i have roped in a few friends to stake out the local parks with me. she is sorely missed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
