***FOUND***
Our little Frankie Sausage is home! 36 hours to the minute from when he went missing.
We received a phonecall at 2.30am from a gent to say he had him. Our sausage saviour said he heard a crying at his back door, he opened it to find Frankie sauntering in. That is very much Frankie behaviour!
He’s a little skinny, is unsteady on his feet and has a wound on his back leg however it doesn’t look to be serious. He is however VERY tired, as are we!
The little dude is now safely wrapped up cosily in his crate and snoozing away.
We have been absolutely, enequovocaly bowled over by the number of people who have gone out of their way to help us.
From volunteer organisations such as Hove Lost Dog Cycle Team, Lost Dog Recovery UK South, Dronesar and Doglost. All of which are free and mainly run by volunteers. Thank you.
A huge thanks to all you sausage lovers who shared and shared and shared, who can resist a hard luck sausage story! Thank you.
Hollingbury and Patcham community Facebook groups. The overwhelming kindness of your community has blown us away. Everyone we met showed great interest and heartfelt empathy. Thank you.
And last but by no means least are you angels on the ground who appeared as if by magic. I lost track of all your offers of volunteering yesterday, I couldn’t keep up! I never imagined we would have so many people turn up and look with us. Thank you.
Most of you will now know that I am sparring with stage 4 cancer.
Our Frankie came to us as a rescue last year at a time where I was struggling mentally with my diagnosis. He has been my daily therapy ever since and these last 2 days have been, unnerving. I have grown so used to my shadow that I’ve felt that there was a part of me missing. Having him back makes our house a home, and he brings us peace and joy everyday.
As I always say about my little sausage monster; we rescued him, but he saved me.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts ❤️❤️❤️ - 2019-12-03 15:19 Sharon - Social Media Volunteer
