Just  to let everyone know that arrangements have been made for Matt and Spud to visit CHAMPION VETS in Ibrox Glasgow who have been very helpful in gathering a little pack for spud. He will be going in for a microchip plus a new collar and extending lead- paid by doglost fund raising. Sable our Scottish co-ordinator has arranged all this plus she is ordering ( from her own funds) a nice tag for Spud together with some coats to keep him warm on the streets. The tag will not only have Matts details but also will have the doglost phone number so he will be easily traced if ever he gets lost!! Hope this will help Matt and Spud get over their ordeal.  CJ    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It was an experiment to see if would work. it came from a supply of similar ones- but was not sure if would work on site. i will find out if can be done by cutting and pasting as do not want to encourage something that could corrupt the site.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Brilliant News - I don't suppose that anyone will be able to get a reunited picture but a nice warm feeling that Matt and Spud have been reunited, and well done to the big hearted people who gave him up to his rightful owner. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spud has now been re-united with his owner. He was spotted by someone who was looking out for him, and this was reported to Matt (owner). These people had bought Spud in good faith but handed him back to Matt when they knew the story. Matt wants to thank Doglost for all the support and help given, and he is just delighted, to say the least, to have his wee pal back again.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have called the person who is handling the calls for the owner of spud and left a message on her voicemail with advice. This dog was stolen from a Big Issue seller outside Morrisons and he is devastated. He looks after this dog very well and actually rescued him from a skip. Please - any helpers out there??? The thief has been found, but the public need to know who he is, as they may have bought Spud from him in good faith. What a handsome boy he is MATT. MATT, I am so sorry that someone so rotten has taken Spud from you. I know that you have a lot of supporters out there looking and trying to help. I take it the Police and  Dog Warden have been informed.  The police have a duty to help you with this in Scotland and are usually helpful. We are still lucky up here, but in England they have nothing to do with stolen or lost dogs. Please download Spud's poster by clicking on POSTER1  above, print off and distribute everywhere you can. Hand flyers out to everyone at Morrisons who may have seen him leaving with the person who stole him. I know he has been found by police, but the public need to know who he is, identify him, and perhaps find out what he has done with Spud. PLEASE, call the rescue kennels and dog warden EVERY day. It is easy for a dog to slip through the net and be re-homed very quickly if he has no ID on him. I now know you didn?t tie your dog outside the shop and leave him, but left him in the trust of someone who has let you down badly. Hopefully some of the homeless people will help you find the dog too. He may have been sold on now, but hopefully if someone knows something he will cough up some information on this. Sorry, but I feel very angry about this. Good luck and best wishes. Hope he is found very soon.I have left my number with Vicky -big Issue to call me if help is requiredLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for your offer of help Julie ! After speaking this morning to the person from Big issue acting as Matts contact.I too had the same thought about posters ! I in fact emailed her a few hours back and said that if he needs any help with posters i would post some up  for her to pass on to him. I will post on here and let you know if she does email back asking for some. I also suggested that they mention in the  further media coverage they are having that anyone can print up posters from our site if they register. There are a lot of local people supporting Matt in this and it would be wonderful if some of them print and dsiplay posters too ! Lets get the word out about  Spud ! x Pam

If you need any posters printed and sent up to you don't hesitate to ask, as obviously you have no computer access.  Good LuckLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Wishing you all the luck in the world getting your handsome Spud back, he is gorgeous.  Someone must know where he is and I'm sure that he will be back to you in next to no time.  Kind Regards JulieLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spud's owner left his belongings along with  Spud in the care of someone he had befriended that day whilst he went to get some water. On his return Spud and his rucksack had gone ! The person that took them has been found by the police but unfortunately the whereabouts of little Spud are not known ! A substantial reward is being offered by Big Issue readers for the return of SPUD ! Hoping further media coverage and postering will bring us some news on Spud ! X PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Some people think they're doing these animals a favour and rescuing them from a life on the streets by doing this.  Yet, 99% of these dogs are very well looked by their owners and are their owners' constant companions. What a gorgeous boy he is.  Stay safe, Spud.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owners i am so sorry to see that Spud has been stolen. After Spud was taken did you ask if Morrisons had any CCTV footage ? It is vital that you poster at Morrisons and also further afield as much as yiu canand hopefully someone will come forward with news of him. You can print posters up directly from this site by clicking on dog poster  directly above Spuds details. All dog wardens  within a reasonable radius need to be informed as do ALL stray kennels. It is very important that you check with stray kennels as by law they only have to keep dogs for 7 days before rehoming them or sending them out to rescues further afield.i have known of several dogs stolen from outside shops only to be dumped further afield so please DO check with pounds and rescues This sort of crime makes me so VERY cross and i think all supermarkets shoud place signs outside warning owners that their dog may be stolen if left tied up outside. I hope youi have some news of Spud very soon x PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
