Hi.sadly doesn't say if male or female but please check on Leigh stray dogs: http://leighdogsandcatshome.co.uk/gpage2.html just in case. I know your dog was chipped, but not sadly it's not unheard of for this to have failed.....

Yes Kimmybear it is my boy! Ozzy being stolen has turned me into a fruit and nut to help others in the same nightmare! hate this feeling of just not knowing where he is, is he safe, happy, alive! does he ever think of us, did he think i gave him away? so upsetting. I hate those evil thieving pigs that just for a quick few quid can cause so much pain for so long! Forever thinking of my boy, hoping he'll be scanned by a vet soon!
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Debs, I have just realised this is your Ozzy! I am so sorry. Keep those posters going up, I know its hard, but you never know if something will click with someone. Get them down the seafront again now.xxx
Debs
Thanks Lorraine, here's hoping someone steps forward with some info, maybe some bitter ex wants some sweet revenge who knows! Wensmum, if it's any comfort to you, there is a poster in the council kennels of your Rags, what a beauty! eyes are peeled for you hun. Liznhar thank you for thinking of our Oz but that king charles was claimed by it's owner. Scootjockey if you are on facebook i have a group https://www.facebook.com/HelpFindOzzy there is a link on there to a petition about vets and scanning please add yourself, sign and share. I wish you the best in finding the gorgeous Tay

Reading these post and Im horrified even more to read more of the same ,Im sorry but I would`nt trust some of these Microchip companies with a potted plant! we dont stand a cat in hells chance of getting our dogs back if they dont update our missing dogs especially stolen dogs details/data to the scanners. Im not knocking microchips by no means just some of those in charge. We would have more happy endings just like lilys. stolen Tays mum x

A King Charles spaniel was found in Margate Kent - quite a way from owner's area but as we all know missing dogs can turn up anywhere - https://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#!/wehelpanydog/posts/434342813258851

Rags was moved from Ani-base to Petlog a fortnight after she went missing - and - guess what - when I rang Petlog, they had lost the fact that she was missing, her description and my contact details. Apologies actuall don't help bring your dog home. Debs, make sure you can get online access to your account with them, so you can check the details whenever you feel like it. Will share Ozzy and put him on Ragsie's page - I so hope he and Rags come safe home like Lily
DogLostSherlock Bones Police Liaison Co-ordinator
Debs, I can see that you've put in some microchip details (they're not public) - but I don't understand the format - can you explain it to me? email me on admin@doglost.co.uk
Lorraine
Just wanted to add I had the same problem with Petlog, I rang and reported her missing the monday after she went (they close at the weekend) a year later when I rang just to double check all my details were corect it turned out they hadn't flagged her as missing, just put it in her comments! They apologised ALOT and said it was a change of company or some other rubbish, they amended it and added notes about their mistake. Please everyone double check your details at least once a year, more if your dog is missing xxx
Lorraine
Debs dont give up, I know its hard but his chip really will bring him home...eventually. I will trawl online for and share his info x chin up keep strong, if I did it anyone can! Lorraine x (Lilys mum!) xx
Debs
We did have a facebook page but when facebook did some changes it deleted it without warning, at the time i felt too disheartened to start another but after reading the recent reuniting of Lilly with her owners Lorraine and family after 22 months apart it has compelled us to soldier on in looking for our boy. Our new facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/HelpFindOzzy please add yourself and share to all your friends. The distinct markings on Ozzy's head as well as his microchip CAN make him found and back where he belongs with your help.
Debs
Well let this be a warning to EVERYONE who has a missing dog. I have just moved and so notified petlog of the change of address. I was horrified to discover that no where on there system does it have logged that Ozzie is stolen, yet of course i notified them straight away after he went missing and again a year later after someone warned me to double check of which back then he was logged as stolen. It is now the eve of 3 years ago that our baby boy was stolen and this news is nothing more than a massive blow! im livid that these vets encourage owners to be responsible and microchip there pets yet some vets fail to even bother to scan an animal if they are seeing it for the 1st time and these micro chip companies take your money yet slack when the most important documentation needs amending. If you have a missing pet please ring your micro chip company asap to double check they havent also been incompetent. Love and miss you Ozzie, we'll always be fighting to find you xx

I've just heard from Debs that an appeal for Ozzy should hopefully be going out on the Paul O'Grady show.....should be within the next couple of weeks, maybe even this Friday. Will bump him back up to the top when it goes out. Fingers crossed this brings some news and helps get little Ozzy home where he belongs. He is desperately missed and his family will never give up searching for him.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I would like to thank everyone for there input into finding Ozzy. This has been incredibly tough on our family and think about Ozzy everyday, we still have hope that we will be reunited one day due to the fact Ozzy is micro chipped, hoping of course that any future vet that sees Ozzy for the first time WILL scan him. I have since found out that not every vet will scan a dog when seeing for the first time, usually this is only done if a microchip is requested, surely this should change as obviously if you know you have a stolen dog the last thing you would do is put yourself in a position where this would be highlighted! anyhow, just to update and let everyone know we are still without Oz and please everyone keep up the good work and a huge thanks. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There's a male cavalier on today's found page. I know it says found in Cheshire, but with Southend being a tourist attraction he could have been picked up by someone from out of the area. Might be worth a look?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Does it seem a bit suspicious that posters put up in 2 areas have been removed? I'm keeping an eye out for cavs over Belfairs and will hand out flyers again while walking. Is it usual for posters to be removed or could it be someone trying to stop efforts to find Ozzy? Hope you get some strong leads from the police and Ozzy is re united with his family very soon. The posters taken down were at entrances on roads so I suppose it could be council workers.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No news yet.....still following up the tip off. I couldn't get hold of the PC dealing with it today so he is calling me tomorrow morning to get the details that the anonymous caller provided and we'll go from there. Also hoping to get something in the local press. Apparently no CCTV is available from outside Adventure Island, but hopefully they will look at some footage from elsewhere. Still no news or calls but the Police are looking at CCTV this week so hopefully, given the amount of CCTV around the seafront, town centre and Kursaal area this will lead back to a car or the thieves house and we will know a bit more - and hopefully have Ozzy home and in the blue reuniteds! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

If anyone is local and has the time to put any posters up, could do with some more up the Kursaal end of the seafront, incl the Kursaal estate area incase anyone there saw anything. We know the people headed off towards the Kursaal end of the seafront so presumably they were parked that way or live over there somewhere. Other good places to get posters in are pubs, shops, car parks etc. Thanks!  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Posters up in Belfairs, quite a lot of interest shown, will take flyers to as many vets as I can later. Gonna try to help with search for Scrappy tomorrow cause Corrinne is a rescue lady we contacted to display her dogs in the shop and we'd only been chatting about Scrappy last week. Speak soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi just to say I will put up posters and hand out leaflets over Belfairs woods tomorrow,do you want me to take flyers to local vets in case they're asked to scan for his chip? Told as many dog walkers as I could today so they're on the alert. Would it be worth contacting dog wardens etc in other areas as he may have been taken by a non local? Hope the CCTV gives some clues. Thinking of you Ozzy and family.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Ozzy was seen being taken by a man and woman in their mid to late 30's. They approached Ozzy and asked some people nearby if he was their dog. When they said no, they said they would 'rescue him' as he had been there for ages (this was not the case and furthermore owners had repeatedly been going back to check him). The thieves untied him and walked off in the direction of the Kursaal. They claimed this was the second dog they 'had to rescue' recently, suspicious eh'! They had a small white dog with them as well - was this the first dog they rescued/stole or was it their own dog? Ozzy's owners have contacted police, dog wardens, vets etc, and no reports of a similar found dog. So these so called rescuers have not contacted the council or any vets, have stolen Ozzy and are now putting his owner and her children through hell. Will speak to a contact I have at the local paper and see if we can get an appeal in there. Owners have also been in touch with Essex FM and ask our dog friendly DJ friend at Southend Radio to do an appeal tomorrow if she can as well. As Noodle said, owner has limited internet access. Noodle is going to get some posters up locally, but if anyone else is local, help postering would be very much appreciated. We need to get the seafront covered before the weekend when they'll be most people visiting.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry to see the lovely Ozzy is missing. Great that you have added his details to DL including 2 lovely photos, we will all do all we can to help you get him back. I have sent you an email......will give you a call later once I?ve finished work as bit chaotic at the mo! I presume he was taken (rather than running off) as you say he was tied up, so the Police need to be informed if they haven?t been already ? there may be some CCTV available from the area? Also ensure local dog wardens, kennels, vets etc are aware Ozzy is missing. Fantastic that he is microchipped. Also, you need to poster poster poster the local area! You can print posters from Ozzy?s page on DL ? when logged in, go to the top, just above Dog Information and click on ?Dog Poster 1?. See if the local businesses ? cafes, arcades, restaurants etc along the seafront will also display his poster in their windows. The more people aware he is missing the better.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
