- Thank you to everyone who is supporting me and to the many people who came to help look for George. We have spread the news far and wide , just need him to pop up. We have a camera at the ready and just need some sightings. I feel he is close to home in Terrington. If you see George he will be in survival mode, please don’t call his name or try to catch him. Ring me and if you can see which direction he goes. Thank you. X

- Sorry I couldn’t make the search yesterday, I’m still not well enough.
I live just outside Hovingham, just opposite Wiganthorpe village. I search round our roads daily, also got a lot of other people looking out for a George too.
I really feel for you Claire and pray George gets back home with you safely. It is 5 and a half years since my two girls Tinker and Hemp 71080 and 71081 were stolen from our garden, I still search this site and a lot of other sites daily, I now include George in my search too xxxx Last edited: 2019-12-29 19:49:43 by Elaine Tinker and Hemps mum - 2019-12-28 19:58 Max - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland

- Hi Claire,
Really feel for you!
Wondered if this may be of help if you haven’t already tried this:
Facebook Group: Drone SAR for lost dogs.
Graham Burton in that group offers really good advice on lost dogs.
The group have drones and pilots who help with finding lost dogs. They usually respond quickly.
Also, on that group, I’ve seen a lady who is experienced tracking lost dogs who has offered help to others in the last.
FB name is
Polly Suzanne Bouffler.
She lives in Knaresborough so not that far.
Hope this helps.

- Is there any more information and instructions about the organised search tomorrow? I have shared the poster on our Greyhound Trust North Yorkshire FaceBook page and updated it with details about the search and I can see that it has been shared a lot. Do you know how many people will be coming and has George been seen since Christmas Eve? I too think advice about how best to organise things from people experienced in searching for dogs would be helpful as we don't want to scare George off.Last edited: 2019-12-27 17:45:05 by Karen

- Many thanks for all support. We have been concentrating on the wooded areas around where you were onto Castle Howard and other way towards Wiganthorpe. May be worth looking above Conesthorpe there are woods everywhere.

We went for a look under Slingsby woods, from castle howard road towards Baxton Howe this afternoon. We shouted for him but unfortunately couldn’t find him.
Let us know if there are any organised search’s on specific areas. - 2019-12-22 18:33 Unknown
- Can you contact missing & found dogs north east on fb please

- There’s a black lurcher/greyhound type dog running loose on the B6275 Hang Bank just up towards the MW Waste centre. Almost been hit by a car twice.
I was driving the opposite way and have turned around to see if I can see it but it’s disappeared. Have my own dog in the car so likely couldn’t pick it up if it did reappear.
Is this near ? - 2019-12-22 18:01 Unknown

- George was spotted on Friday around 11am near the Fryton/Baxton Howe turn off at Slingsby. He went up a track on your right just before you go into Slingsby. Track takes you to woods up the hill. Searched areas and a drone has been around areas of Slingsby, Hovingham and Terrington. No sign. Drone didn’t work in some parts due to a magnetic field. I am desperate please spread the word. Many thanks.
