We were made aware of a Post on another local page, reporting Rosie the Labrador missing from near the Travelodge.

A helpful member of the public later reported seeing Rosie near a premises on Folly Road, where they'd contained her within a small area.

Team 5 attended and managed to get hold of Rosie, who despite being a bit cold and scared, seemed to be ok. We managed to get an improvised lead onto her and took her back to the Police Station for a bit of a fuss.

She's now been reunited with her very relieved family, who wish to pass their thanks to everybody who has given their time and even searches via Drone."

Rosie was spotted in Folly Road and secured in an area by a member of public she was then caught by a local police team and soon reunited with owners.
Thank you to everyone that was out helping in that awful rain.

Thanks John very much. Family have just updated Rosie Found safe & well. I'm unsure where at moment. Everyone has been incredibly kind. Thank you all.

Thanks everyone for helping - the owner contacted us when Rosie went missing.

She didn’t appear hurt by the minor impact with the car but at this stage it’s safest to assume that she’s in survival mode and views all humans including those she knows, as predators. This way searchers can’t do anything wrong, otherwise, if people get too close, or make any attempt to catch her, she will panic and panicked dogs move out of the area and make bad decisions

Basically it’s about getting sightings whilst people go about there day to day business rather than intensive searching of undergrowth, outbuildings etc. Please DO NOT CALL, CHASE or try to CATCH, if seen IGNORE AND WITHDRAW and contact 07837347072 or 07834379745 (Rosie’s owner has poor mobile reception so there’s a new alternative number)

Her owner has been briefed how to catch her in these circumstances.

At this stage raising awareness of people not on Facebook is key. So postering footpath and street junctions, noticeboards, bus shelters etc and talking to/flyering nearby businesses is key. Asking businesses to check there CCTV to see which way she ran would be good.

Low key searching by keeping to footpaths and using binoculars to scan fields etc is good. Do not approach places that she may be hiding in eg buildings, undergrowth.

Rosie added on behalf of owners, visiting family in Devizes this week, staying at Travelodge. Owner was making routine walk with Rosie last evening from Travelodge to Windsor Road, joining the canal towpath to second bridge which rejoins London Road. He recalls giving Rosie a treat at the ramp at bridge, she walked alongside off lead. Rosie soon after lost to sight. Rosie was seen after this time on the London Rd heading back towards the Travelodge, there is a slight possibility she has been clipped by a car. Possible she has gone Roundway side. Owners out searching, due to return home out of County Saturday. Any help truly appreciated. Police, Macqueen Vets, DW updated. The ID disc on Rosie's collar will 'ring' home, no one there to take call.
