- If lost from home please ensure the gate / entrance is open for them .....leave some of their scent there in a dry place ...,bedding or jumper .....put a small amount of food down ....also you can run the car with the doors open and one of you sitting talking and calling gently low tone ....have some nice smelly food on you . You could also do a bbq just away from where they went lost ....in the immediate 48/72 hours they are likely to try to come back to point they were lost....bbq will get chicken and smelly sausage smells out 14x greater than our detection ...,sit quietly and let them come ...talk gentle to them without giving full eye contact....when you walk try to relax and ask them to walk with you x
