- Very sad update from Catherine:
"We are devastated to say that Muscat has not made it home. A local police lady spotted her body lying not far from our house. She had no visible signs of injury, so we believe she succumbed to hypothermia in all the awful wet weather last weekend.
For her to have survived for 4 weeks on her own resources shows how tough and resilient our wee dogs really are. And to know that she very nearly made it home is very hard to deal with.
We've had a huge amount of moral and practical support from friends, Dachshunds in Scotland (especially Karen Walker), Dachshunds in Fife, Lee Herron and Dana's Angels. Thank you all
Run free at Rainbow Bridge brave lass.
Condolences to all those who knew MuscatLast edited: 2020-02-07 18:23:24 - 2020-02-07 02:50 Loz

"MUSCAT UPDATE 27/1/20 @ 1.30 pm
Muscat is still missing. Tracker dogs were out over the weekend and gave us positive signals that she's been in the area close by very recently. That's in the Bandrum area near Saline KY12 9HR.
She may have wandered in to Carnock Wood, so if you're walking your dog in that area, please keep an eye out for a small chocolate wire haired dachshund with a turquoise collar.
If you spot her, PLEASE don't try and grab her or call her. She's likely to spook and run away. Instead, phone me on 07591 486491or my husband on 07833 206444." - 2020-01-08 17:26 GeoffA - Area Volunteer - Cornwall, Scotland & Northumberland

"MUSCAT UPDATE 8/1/20 @ 11.50AM
Muscat is still missing. We had an expert tracker here from Dana's Angels Fife who last night who feels she may be hiding not far from the house. Sardines put out last night have been eaten, more food is out for her at the moment to try and tempt her to come home.
The advice is to let her come to us, and not try to "flush" her out as this will spook her even more and set back the whole process of her coming home. So again, if you spot her, PLEASE don't call her or try and catch her.
Please phone me 07591 486491 or my husband 07833 206444. Appreciate all your messages and thoughts. Thank you!"Last edited: 2020-01-08 17:33:01 by GeoffA - Area Volunteer - Cornwall, Scotland & Northumberland - 2020-01-07 19:19 Millypod (Chris) - Administrative Volunteer

- No sight (or sound) of her in the early hours of this morning I'm afraid, and my husband and I have just driven round that way again, still nothing. It's very rural in that area but there are lots of places she could find shelter (farms, woodland etc). I'll keep checking her page for updates, and will keep looking at various times of days and nights. Really hope she wanders home soon, she looks lovely x

- I'm not too far from where Muscat went missing, and I suffer from insomnia so I'll take a drive up to the general area in a few hours and have a walk round with my torch. I'm small, female and soft-spoken (so hopefully won't appear threatening), and I have a nervous dog myself so I understand not to spook her. I'll use one of the contact numbers if I spot her.
