HazY, thank you so much for passing on this Facebook page. The dog does look a lot like Dixie but when I zoomed in I noticed it has a full tail. Dixie's was docked by a vet when he was very young. I've always appreciated your help and always will. Thank you again xxx

Thank you, HazY, for passing these details to me. I've been in touch with the kennels and spoke to a very unhelpful woman. She wouldn't give me many details but she claimed the chip numbers don't match and she couldn't tell me if the tail was docked. I don't think I'm going to get any further with someone like her so I'm forced to assume that it's not Dixie. I'm so grateful to you for keeping your eyes open for Dixie and really appreciate you letting me know. Thank you so much xx

Hi Primrose, thank you so much for your posting. I was alerted by HazY about the same dog and I hope you can see my reply. However this doesn't mean I don't value your posting as much and I do really appreciate your help. People can be so very kind x
ChoccyMonster
HazY, thank you so much for passing on the details of the black cocker spaniel. I've spoken to the Vet practice and they believe the dog was only about a year old and didn't have a chip. I know that chips can be removed but Dixie would be over four years old now so they don't think it could have been him. They wouldn't give me any more information. Thank you again and I'd be so grateful if you could keep thinking of Dixie and me. Bless you x

Thank you so much, HazY, for sending me this photo. I must admit that as there's only one photo it's difficult to say whether it might be Dixie. The eyes look right, the white on the chest looks about right but all of my past enquiries seem to fall down on whether the tail is docked or not. I'll make some enquiries on the original Facebook site and will let you know if I come up with anything. I do thank you so very much for thinking of me and of Dixie, I owe it to you to let you know what happens. Thank you again and to everyone who has shared Dixie's details.

I have doubled checked with Dixie’s owner and he went missing on the 4th of January 2020, it is coming up to his sad 2 year anniversary of him being taken.
I will bump his page up on the 4th of January 2022 to raise awareness and let people know he is still missing and the owner is still desperately searching for him x
DogLostVetsGetScanning
Post on Facebook. Date lost is wrong. Should be 2019.

Lost dog Dixie, black cocker spaniel with small amount of white on chest. Someone out there knows where he is - do the decent thing and give him back to us. It's now been nearly two years since he went 'missing' on 4th January 2019 and I want him back!
ChoccyMonster
Thank you so much of thinking of me and Dixie. We've both looked at the photo and we don't believe that this is Dixie. There's no white on the chest, his head is too chunky and it looks a lot older than Dixie would be. I really appreciate the heads-up though, thank you so much, LouiseB.
LouiseB
Please have a look at this link showing a found cocker. On West Cumbria missing persons and animal search and rescue forum. Looks well looked after but no one seems to be claiming it. Louise x

Hi again, Cockers 2, have just spoken to Aspire Vets and they've confirmed that both of the cocker spaniels they have are bitches. Dixie is, as you probably know, an entire male, so unfortunately no luck this time. Thank you so much anyway for letting me know, it's more appreciated than you know. I'll find him one day, I'm sure.
ChoccyMonster
Thank you, Cockers2, for letting me know about these dogs. I've been trying to ring the Vets where they had been taken but they're constantly engaged - probably with people like me hoping the dog is theirs! I'll keep trying and will let you know what the result is. Thank you again, it's very much appreciated.

Hi PippE, I've found the Pets4Homes advert and have sent the same complaint to them as I did to Gumtree, hopefully the might taken some notice. Thanks v. much again for pointing me to this. Fingers crossed again!
ChoccyMonster
Hi PippE, I checked yesterday and the ad. on Gumtree had been taken down. I didn't know about the Pets4Homes one so I'll get onto that now. Thanks v. much for letting me know xx
PippaE
I can see both the advert on PEts4homes and gumtree are still listed. Fingers crossed for you X
ChoccyMonster
Thank you PippE (and also to choowie74) for alerting me to this. Another kind lady told me about this advert and I asked for further information but the seller said she wouldn't give any information unless it was to the buyer. Before I was able to take any action the ad. has this morning been taken down. However, I did complain to Gumtree that I believed the dog she was selling was, in my opinion, my Dixie who had been 'lost'. It may be that they've taken down the ad. on that basis. Hoping it will yield some good news! Please keep your fingers crossed for me! xx
PippaE
Worth looking at this advert. Dog has a small white bit of his chest. The seller is also selling other puppies and the adverts just don't sit well with me..https://www.pets4homes.co.uk/classifieds/3418488-kc-registered-dog-south-molton.html

Thank you, choowie74, for letting me know about this advert. I'll get onto it straight away. Sorry for delay in responding but we only got back home yesterday. Thanks again x

From Dixie’s owner...
It was Dixie's 3rd birthday on the 6th May 2021. Someone out there knows where he is - can they please give him back so I can fill the dog-shaped hole in my heart and stop living on the edge of my wits.
ChoccyMonster
Thank you so much, Yvonne, for alerting me to this. I'll make sure I get onto it straight away as one of the spaniels could indeed be Dixie as we have no idea where he is now. Thank you so much again xx

CCWalsh, I've been trying to contact the person that you informed me about and I do believe that the dog I saw on the photos is Dixie. However, I've not been able to contact him and the advert says that the puppy has been sold, so I've hit a hit of a brick wall. Thank you very much, anyway, for pointing me in the direction of this seller.

FOUND: A black entire male Cocker Spaniel with a white chest has been found on Beeches Road in Charlton Kings. He has no collar and is chipped but unfortunately the chip hasn't been registered so we have no details of the owner. We are keeping him here at our main branch at Overton Park Road but if no one comes forward we will have to contact the dog warden. Please share to help us find his owner and call us on 01242 522 429 if you have any information. Photos of the dog will be required for proof of ownership.
ChoccyMonster
To DogLost, I've placed a public post on my FB page asking if anyone has seen the dog. I must still hope that Dixie will be found. Thank you for your heads-up xx.

Thank you for pointing me in the direction of the dog being sold on Dragon Driving. It's very difficult to say if this dog is Dixie as the advert gives very little information about the dog and the photos are terrible. Is there any way of knowing who the dog has been sold to? UPDATE taken from Dixie’s Facebook group .....
Last seen in Icklingham with the trainer (not owner) possible sighting by a shepherd / ranger or family member called leverett or (Richard ) still unsure who! If anyone knows of him please PM so details can be forwarded.
He also shoots and is known by the trainer, but for some reason has not made contact with the dogs owners himself. Even after several apparent sightings? Dog could of possibly been passed on (stolen) so please keep eyes peeled as his owners are not local.
They are desperate to get answers !
Judith
I have spoken to Dixie's owner. Dixie was lost near Icklingham but his home is in Surrey so he cannot get home on his own.
He is friendly and will come to his name or a whistle.

I have received a telephone call from Mr Colclough to say that a black dog has been seen for the last three nights in the West Stow Park area. This could very well be Dixie.
Could anyone who lives near that area please, please, keep a sharp look out if you're in that area. If it's possible for any of you to get a group together to search the Park and the woodland area we would be incredibly grateful. We would sell our souls for this to be Dixie.
If anybody can help we would be thankful to you forever. xxx Kim.
