Hi all, sorry I haven't been on site earlier as of all things my computer packed up... Yes my beautiful baby is home and I can't thank you all enough for the fantastic help and support we received from you all. I always knew we would get her back. She was so lucky to be found by someone that took good care of her. I will continue to log on and help in any way I can as I can't praise this site enough. xxxx Sharon.

THis is SUCH FANTASTIC news !! I  spoke to Sharon last night  and I cant tell you how wonderful it is to see tonight that  GRACE IS HOME AGAIN !!!!!!! I am so pleased that the man who had found her came forward and at least she was being kept in a place of safety instead of running scared with all the dangers of traffic. It also accounts for the lack of positive sightings since round about last Thursday. Welcome home Grace and stay safe from now on xxxx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sharon has just phoned and Grace is safely home. A man had been looking after her since Thursday but fortunately decided that she must be someones dog and made the effort to find who she belonged to. Sharon will probably post a message herself later on but in the meantime she would like to say a huge thank you to all the help she has had in looking for Grace. Welcome home Grace!!  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Cathf much appreciate your offer, I am so pleased that Paddy came back after 4 weeks, it certainly gives us hope. Im keeping my fingers crossed for Grace, our Cassie is a rescue dog who ran off while out for a walk too, she is also very nervous and has gone into hiding but has now started to make her presence known to people.   Hope Grace is home soon.  Helen xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hello janey
if she is trying to get home,,its a  bad area to cover for her..very busy roads,,i thought she would have been picked up as stray already, she just blends in with normal dogs so isnt really in your eye! just keep up what your doing until another sighting,,i know its awful..Cassie is 14 days now and they know where she is,,just cant catch her ;-(  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We have been back to blaydon today and put up more posters and spoke to some locals but no sightings. Been back in touch with wardens and shelters, and vets. A female black lab was picked up by Durham wardens but it wasn't Grace. Good to hear about another sighting as it is almost a week since she went missing just hope she is trying to make her way home. We just don't know what to do now as we have been out everyday, asked around, phoned everyone we can think off and put up posters this has been the longest week of my life. x

My sister-in-law and myself have just got back from having another look. We have put up some posters and also handed some out. While we were there i received a phone call from a very nice couple who had spotted her running along Fairway in Blaydon on Friday. We have been all over the area but no sign. So it seems that she is making her way towards home, fingers crossed she will be spotted and picked up.

I have just spoken with Grace's owners and apart from when she initially ran off there have been no sightings of her.She actually lives in FELLING  so will not be familiar with RYTON the area she ran off from. She ran across the golf course in the direction of BLAYDON near to railway lines. The owners have checked with rail track and also walked next to the lines to check for Grace. People from the golf course have been helpful and tried to help the owner catch her when she ran off and one golfer said she ran after his ball when he teed off ! . Also she is a rescue dog and has only been with the owners since mid August and is a very nervous dog particularly with men ! Being a nervous dog she may well have gone into hiding. it is very important to get as many posters up as possible which will hopefully bring in some news or sightings of Grace. Hoping for some news of this lovely girl very soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
hello janey
ok,,poster needs to say ryton,,they should class her as a lab really when you call them up,,check with the dog wardens this area is classed as ghd and she would be taken there?? could she get near the red kite walks?? mine used to love going that area, maybe she is following people, are there any helpers in this area??? how long has she been missing,,,those 7 days fly by!! Thanks Janey, I will certainly go to the shelters  tomorrow. We phoned today but we were told they didn,t have her. She went missing from Ryton Golf Club and was last seen running along tracks towards Blaydon. We have been intouch with railway and thankfully there have been no sightings of her which is a strange sort of relief. But thanks for the advice.x

hello janey
whats the exact area?? street etc,,felling or ryton?  gateshead  stray dogs are taken to newcastle shelters,,or out of hours they are at vets now,,also known as pdsa stoneygate lane, felling, especially with a cross breed,,you need to go there rather than call up,,they are useless on the phone and could pass yours by,will check again tomorrow xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Grace was out for a walk with my husband when she ran off, so you can imagine how worried we are as she does’nt know the area. We have been back to look around but she could be we just dont know where she could be.We have been in touch with all the organisations we can think off. Thank you to everyone who is looking for her.
