He was never claimed so Mendip Council instructed us to rehome him. He has gone to a specialist rescue for some training before he is ready for rehoming.

Vet practice have now located breeder chip was issued to. Breeder doesn't have current details of who he was rehomed to but confirmed mum was 3/4's malamute and 1/4 german shepherd and dad was german shepherd.

new photo added we are not sure if he is a german shepherd or german shepherd x

NVS have now advised us on the vet practice the chip was issued to but sadly they haven't any record of who the chip was implanted in. The photo is poor and we will try and get a better one but he came in late and was tied to a fence and had bitten so we are taking things very slow with him. We don't know his exact breed but he does look more a cross

If the chip isn't registered, by law in the UK chips can only be purchased by qualified implanters( including vets) as this was sold by national vet services odds are the implanter will be a vet. NVS must keep records who they sold the chip too & should advise the DW who they sold it to. Interesting that the dog is being called a x , poor photo but the dog looks like a gsd not a xLast edited: 2020-02-06 03:09:02 by Deejay

perhaps, altho' I do realise, the Rescues are sadly always full, a GS Rescue can help ...

Hi the chip is not registered on a defra compliant database. It was issued to National Vet Services so we have been on to them & identichip to ask if they can advise from their records what vets/implanter it was sold to but sadly we are not very hopeful that either can help

Ohhh, the poor Boy 😟 Altho, we must not be quick to judge must we ? : i wonder if a Fisherman has tied him there whilst getting into a vehicle, then forgotten to put him in the vehicle before driving off ?..
Are the Dog's 'chip details out of date ? ....Last edited: 2020-02-03 21:35:59 by #stoppettheft
