When cats go mising the first thing to do is to check ALL outbuildings such as sheds, garages, greenhouses, cellars etc. Bear in mind too that cats have very flexible spines, and collar bones so they can squeee into very small spaces (About 3" wide 7cm) So has he mamaged to get into a partrially opened window, and is now trapped? Ext can be difficult; it depends on the drop. Check trees; any decking too. Put some tuna/sardines or warm chicken in his dish and call him; night/early morning is best. Rattle sonme treats too. Place his UNWASHED blanket into a clean container, along with your scent too. Leave in the garden in a sheltered spot, or hang on the washing line if dry; used towels too. Empty contents of the hoover onto the garden as his scent will be there; litter contents too. DO NOT leave the box/tray outsiude as other cats could use it, and it could confuse the cat. Wipe his scent on your garden fences, gates, dors too; anything leading up to the garden. Try a squeky toy as it may attract his attention. Take a good walk around the area, holding an object with his scent on, and rattle some Dreamies. Someone maybe feeding him. (Common problem). When it`s nightfall, and you are searching, use a strong torch as the light will reflect a cats eyes. Poster around the area, and post flyers through doors too. Ask around, espoecially those wih children as they can be very observant where aninals are concerned. Post in shops; post offices too. Hand out as many posters as you can; where, and when you can. Was their a delivery van in the vicinity on the day he went awol? Apparently up to 80% of cats will accidentally get transported somwhere else (Could be any vehicle)
. And is there a dominant cat in the area? As someinmes they will chase a less confident cat out of it`s own territory. The chased cat wil not return, until they think it`s "Safe" enough for them to do so. But sometimes they can become lost, and disorientated. Post a LOST CAT ad in a National newspaper too. Paws xd.

• Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.

• If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
• Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
