We miss Roly so much - he was a HUGE character. Thank you for your help, I'm sure that had he been running loose, your advice would have brought him home.

Sadly i have to tell you that little Roly did not make it home. His body has been found down the rabbit hole that the other dog managed to escape from. He has been  down there all the time, so another loose dog must still be on the run in the area. I am so sad for Ann and Len. They took all our advice on board, and worked so hard to get this little one home safe. I'm so sorry it turned out this way, and my heart goes out to them. Run free in the sunshine at Rainbow Bridge Roly xx    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
e mail from a helper:   I have seen a dog very similar to this one in a rescue centre I support.  I have emailed them as he is being home vetted and asked them to wait until I hear from you or the owners.    I used to go on Dog Lost a lot and trawl through the pictures but it isn't so easy now as I seem to have to go into every dog individually.  I also can't find a number for the owners of this dog or I could have got in touch with them directly.   Please have you got time to email me/ them etc so I can let them look at this other dog.   Thank you  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There has been a recent sighting of Roly !!  he was seen last night Sat 18th Oct standing outside The Mermaid Public House at Hedenham, on the other side of the road. Publican recognised him from a poster and was afraid to call him incase he came across the road in front of traffic. He was looking nervous and thin, but clean, and ran off, heading south in direction of Bungay. This would in fact be on route to home as owners actually live at Halesworth which is about 15 miles. If anyone is in that area and could help with search today it would be wonderful. Mobile phone reception is extremely bad in the area. Hardly any signal. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What a handsome boy!  So sorry he has gone missing and hope he'll be home soon.  You do need to get as many posters up as possible to make everyone aware.  Keep safe Roly till you are found. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken with owner, and given advise. Unfortunately Roly has been missing for a week now with no sightings. He did run off with another dog, which was found in a sort of haulage yard by workers, but Roly was not to be seen. They have stayed together when run off before. The back of the yard is open to filelds etc and quite rural with one or two houses in area that have been made aware. Quite a vocal dog, and would howl or kick up a noise if hurt or caught up, but nothing has been heard and a good search has been made of the area. The fields have also been cut now, so not much undergrowth. Have suggested re- track over dog wardens, pounds, vets etc and get onto local paper immediately to run a story. No postering has been done yet, so this is urgent. Will provide flyers by email. Pubs, markets and boot sales need postering also. Have also given advice on scenting. Good luck Ann. Please stay positive and I hope you get some news soon. Please keep us informed. Meant to say, Roly has gone missing about 15 miles from home, so could try to find his way back, but would mean crossing a very busy road. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry to hear Roly has gone missing. Once photo is on site you can print off his poster by clicking on to Dog Poster 1 at the top of this page, you must be logged on to do this. Get posters put up all around the area he went missing from and send copies to all vets and rescue centres. Make sure you contact the dog warden and visit rescue centre as often as possible, don't rely on them to contact you.Ask your local sorting office if they will display a poster. Other places to poster are dog traing clubs, grooming parlours, taxi cab offices, bus stops, pet shops, supermarkets and schools. Hope you find him soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

If you know of any sightings of a wandering cocker spaniel in the Brooke/Poringland area, please let us know, as there has been no trace at all, which is odd, as he disappeared with our other spaniel, found the same day!
