UPDATE:

Abbie has settled in well and is very happy to of been found although still very shy, she’s managed a few tail wags today which is wonderful news!
She’s eating well and is spending lots of time catching up on some much needed sleep.
Abbie has clearly been through a huge amount in the past 9 days (if not longer) with all the storms and freezing conditions, finding food, shelter and water, she’s walked many many miles.
It will take her some time to settle properly and to be able to trust but so far she’s making brilliant progress 🐾❤️

A huge thanks once again to everyone for all of your shares and comments, you all played a huge part in securing Abbie, all your efforts are greatly appreciated 🐶❤️

Really pleased to report that “Abbot” (now known as Abbie) has been caught and is safe x

UPDATE 27/2 - 'Abbot' is continuing to roam an area of roughly 8 sq miles, and so far has not settled in one place despite bbqs being done and food being down. We were hopefull that he/she might settle at a farm where it ate, but next day Abbot was 8 miles away. He/she spent a day in the Eynesbury area of St Neots, but well meaning people tried to follow/catch the dog and it moved on :(. We have a team of experienced people working together to get the dog safe - ourselves, Drone SAR, DogLost, the local Dog Warden and members of a local lost dog team, we have cameras in use and traps available, but at the moment until Abbot settles it is a case of getting sightings quickly and getting food down in the hope he decides to hang around.

The dog is very unlikely to be caught by hand unless in a secure enclosed space as it runs from humans, which is to be expected of a dog in survival mode, and so far has shown no interest in other dogs.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP <3 <3 <3 PLEASE REMEMBER TO IGNORE HIM/HER IF SEEN - RING/TEXT 0781 637 570 or 07830 777 990 or 07940 505 297 IF SIGHTED.

UPDATE from Abbot’s group..
We've had a confirmed sighting which we'll keep quiet for now. We are confident that our best chances are in a particular area to set up food stations. Our lovely team which includes the dog warden are on standby. This may take time and a lot of patience. Everyone has been so lovely in helping pòor Abbot. If only Abbot knew how many people are worried for him. I'd say to keep updating us with more sightings but I think it would be wise to do this via the numbers given or direct messaging this page. This is to ensure we don't have too many well meaning people heading out to find Abbot. This may actually scare them and send them running. Consider yourselves great people! Abbot is a lucky pooch ❤❤❤
