Absolutely brilliant news - I'm so happy to hear that dear Lottie is back home with her family. And what wonderful and inspiring team work - WELL DONE to everyone who was involved in helping to reunite this gorgeous Lab with her family. And... to the vile people who harmed Lottie and abused her trust, may I wish that you all get your come-uppance and that when it comes it 'fits the crime'. But besides all that, welcome home Lottie and I hope it won't be long until all those awful memories subside. x

After all poor Lottie has gone through she so deserved to be back in the loving arms of her family who, I am sure, will give her all the spoiling she needs at this time! It is stories like this that keep us all going in what we do and makes it all so worth while. Get well soon dear Lottie!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Welcome home Lottie! Absolutely thrilled Lottie is back home where she belongs but saddened to hear what she has had to endure at the hands of the evil scumbags that had her. Massive well done and thank you to everyone involved in making this a happy ending for Lottie. Amanda & family you sound like total gems, and I know Rhoni from Lost a Lab has been superb too. Thank you Angus for what you did and to Doglover and Glynafon for pointing out the found ad. So great when it all comes together like this. So pleased Lottie has settled back in well with her Lab pals and human family, I am sure as her physical injuries start to heal, so will, with lots of time and TLC, any mental scars she has. Labradors are the best (but I'm biased!!).Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The news that Lottie is home has made my day, week and month - I don't know why but I always believed that someday we would be able to see this family complete again. A massive thank you to Amanda and family for finding Lottie, taking her into your home and nursing her back to health over the last 10 days, to Rhoni at Lost a Lab for all your work and guidance, protecting her identity to ensure that she went home to the right owners and for your diligence in noticing her traits and mannerism's and extracting those answers. Lottie has suffered awful trauma, yet throughout this her nature and her upbringing has shone through and this will undoubtedly see her back into family life very easily, infact when I was speaking with Jackie this evening she was happily settled with Millie and Jess as if she hadn't been away. I will be going to visit very soon and will upload a reunited picture of all the family . This is the dog spotted on dogpages by helper Doglover & Coordinator Glynafon - so thank you both for pointing it out so that we could act quickly in response   Sandie xx  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Very excited to let everyone know that Lottie is home at last. We would like to thank everyone at Dogs Lost for not giving up on her. Unfortunately she has obviously had at some stage had a very dreadful ordeal , and has been involved in dog baiting / fighting. Amazingly , this has not damaged her personality and her love of life and the fun that she brings to everyone that knows her. Our Labrador family is reunited at last , 3 x black labradors all together , GrandMa Jess, Aunt Millie and little Lottie. We would like to thank Ronni for all the help from Labrador Lost , Sandy from Dogs Lost and Amanda who has nursed her back to health over the last 10 days and for contacting Labs Lost. We have found some new family friends who we will keep updated on Lottie's future activities. Next job is back to the vets for a final check-up. Then its new garden fencing and micro chipping .    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Np Jan.sadly Lottie has injuries sustained during her ordeal but a great lady ( Amanda ) who was party to saving her immediatly had all the vet care she needed donethese injuries are still in recovery but she is improving every day. Had an update and Lottie has just arrived home and is settling well, but I don’t want to steal Jackie’s thunder, her joy and excitment will tell you the rest I’m sure.
I would pay to have just 20 mins in a sound proof room with her captors then use them as bait !

Visiting the traveller sites is probably not a good idea on your own to be honest.  I did, but in hindsight I shan't do it again. I was looking for a staffie in my area  during the summer  and was driving about the area putting posters up and went onto the local traveller site  alone . I was stopped immediately, as a car pulled up alongside me and asked what I was doing there.  I did feel quite intimidated and felt I had to bluff my way and be very careful about not insinuating they might be responsible  but asked him if he could put poster up in  their site office and  asked politely that if they  noticed any matching the description whilst "out and about" in the area would they notify Doglost. Though, whilst I was there I spotted a little girl with a  black and white springer spaniel which was very unkempt. Because of this I notified the police and the Liaison officer but nothing became of it as the dog wasnt chipped and they stated it was their dog. :-(((Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

HI When  I spoke to Jackie I mentioned the Traveller Liaison Officer might be the best prson to try contact for the relevant council. However, in my area there was a vacancy advertised so I'm not sure how often the turnover of staff might be.  The police have  on occasions also been quite observant re the dogs they have. It might be another thought, but I have a good relationship with the Animal Health Officer  due to another issue locally  ( Environmental Health - with the local council ) maybe if contacted that department in your area they could give some pointers/advice. Their jurisdiction tends to be pet shops/farms etc but they DO have contacts and liaise quite closely with other departments ! If there is a problem in finding out the necessary information, let me know and I can see if I can get any particular contact names which may help. email address is : Arista161122@aol.comLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

owner has checked link and this is not her lottie...........such an emotional rollercoaster. i am now trying to email poster to all boarding kennels starting leighton buzzard area and working outwards,i'm thinking if someone has taken her in and decided to keep her they may need to kennel her over christmas if they are away..........it is better that they receive two or tree posters emailed than none at all so please if anyone else wants to do the same thing in case i miss any then go ahead that would be fantastic.ask the kennel to display the poster for their clients to see. is there anyone out there who can visit slapton travelers site as this hasn't been done yet............someone with great peolple skills as i am told the site isn't the friendliest. lets keep updating and stir some interest back up in the search for lottie i'm sure santa has agreat big sack full for her!!!!! dawn    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for all your offers of help had a chat with Dawn today, I am struggling to know where to go from here. Also wanted to say thanks to Alfmar and Marie for offering to help. As I'm in West Yorkshire am too far to poster but I check the free ads/ dog pounds and rescues  nationally as much as I can ......   so your offer of help is really appreciated.   As with all the dogs, the more eyes there are the greater chance we have of getting them reunited. I dont think Jackie checks regularly which is why if I tend to come across any possible matches I ring as would hate anything to slip by Helen xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had an email from Jackie, sadly the sighting seems to tie in with a local black lab (lost and then reunited )in the woods for 1 hour on Wednesday morning between 8.30-9.30. Jackie bumped into the owner and dog whilst checking the feeding station on Thursday morning, she is obviously very disappointed but knowing this family they will pick themselves up and continue to work very hard to get Lottie home.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I spoke to Jackie this afternnon, she has been leafleting houses backing on to parkland surrounding the river, as a result she has had a couple of potential sightings of a small black lab, she has scented all the way back to the house from these sightings and will go back this afternoon with bedding/clothing and some stinky food to try to set up a feeding area. One of the sightings mentioned a red collar the other the dog was too far away to define but both the dog was on it's own. fingers crossed xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sandie and I spent Monday afternoon scouring the local area, we met lots of other dog walkers, many of whom had heard of missing Lotttie. The possible of sighting of Lottie, would appear to be a red herring as the Florist shop where she was spotted has a small dog (black & white). Have asked the lady who reported seeing Lottie to go back and see the dog at the shop so we can clear this up. In the meantime I have put another ad in the Leighton Buzzard Citizen offering a substantial reward. Thank you to Sandie and Jan (Majorjet) for all the help and support. It has kept us going. We just need a bit of luck now. JackieLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for all the support. Having spoken to Jacquie the other day , she mentioned that Lottie may have been seen just after she went missing, heading towards the Grand Union Canal, looking on google earth this sighting is just a few streets from the canal, also only one street away from where Liam (14511) was last seen. I have advised her on body language and not to make eye contact with Lottie if they are lucky enough to spot her whilst out today. Here's hoping that this is Lottie and that we may be able to get her back very soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
