- UPDATE! Duchess is home!!!
Thank you all so much for your posts and efforts. You have blown us away with your support & it meant so much. She is safe & well, just tired & hungry.
A dog walkers dog, Boston, led his owners to her & they managed to corral her into her mother’s garden where they captured her & brought her home.
She is surprisingly well, just very tired & hungry
Thank you all so much - 2020-03-19 19:39 Sharon - Social Media Volunteer

- UPDATE: Duchess was last spotted in Victoria Drive by a dog walker. By the time Anita (owner’s daughter) got there she’d moved on. She seems to be circling Lyneham from Bradenstoke to Goatacre .
She is tired, still nervous but someone got close to her before Duchess spooked & ran away. The best thing is to stand still, ignore her , don’t look directly at her, don’t call her. If you have a dog, she may trust you if she sees you interacting with your dog. We do not want to push her into areas where there are lambs & livestock-it’s not fair on farmers & they will shoot- & chasing her could force her to do that. My number is 07920056205 & my mother’s is 01249892589. If you see her please let us know as we are trying to work out her pattern of movements to try to entice her.
An absolutely HUGE thank you to everyone so far. You really don’t know how much it has meant & continues to mean. Anita - 2020-03-19 12:57 Reynard

- Duchess is still missing. However was seen last night at various locations. She is still in the local area & May have found shelter somewhere on MOD Lyneham. She is running away when people approach

- Posters generate half of all sighting calls – please could people poster street corners, footpath junctions and flyer remoter places – farms, smallholdings, stables, starting from Lyneham and working out to a 5 mile radius. Hopefully she’s stayed local but we need to cover the possibility.
Dogs often seek sanctuary in areas of low human activity on the fringes of settlements – allotments, graveyards, golf courses, smallholdings, business parks, industrial estates.
Ideally if people can look out for her whilst walking quietly on footpaths and tracks where people normally go rather than intensive, bushwacking and calling/whistling type searching. - 2020-03-17 21:08 Sharon - Social Media Volunteer

- Just to update everyone, initial advice has given on the private Lyneham group.
"Duchess escaped from home this afternoon at 1pm. We have only had her 4 days so she does not know us nor the area. She ran from Sawmills Garage on Chippenham Road, Lyneham, veered off into fields, made her way to Dauntsey but returned to the field she started from. She then got herself into the perimeter fence at MOD Lyneham, who were very helpful, looking for her. They say she got off camp via a stream so now we don’t know where she is. She is microchipped.
She is nearly 3yrs old, because she’d not been vaccinated (until Monday, when she was vaccinated at White Horse Vets, Andrews Court, Lyneham) she’s not had a walk/run so ran like the wind. Last seen on MOD Lyneham, strolling, until approached then turned tail & ran away again. She is lovely natured & would not hurt anyone."
