From Izzy's facebook page "Izzy was taken from our garden in Burwash on the evening of 18th March 2020. There were no signs of her having escaped from our fully fenced garden and following an extensive search she was nowhere to be found. So we had assume someone had taken her. We reported the theft to the police who reported her as stolen.

So started a campaign to find her and get her back. Posters, local village email groups, lost dog sites, facebook groups and Twitter - her story was spreading far and wide. We can’t thank all those thousands of people enough for all those posts and re-tweets Izzy had.

Then out of the blue we received a phone on the evening of the 3 May, some six and half weeks after she was taken, from a vet based in Goudhurst who informed us that Izzy been found following a check of her microchip. She had been found by a family wondering around Kilndown who took her home before getting the vet to check her out. That evening we went to pick her up and despite being a little smelly she was her own effervescent self and had clearly not been feral for the past six weeks.

The family who found her said that a couple of dogs had been seen in the village that day and it was assumed they had been abandoned in Kilndown. So we can only assume that social media campaign etc had made her too hot to handle and who ever took her decided dump her.

Finally we would like to thank all those who took the time to help us get our little girl back."

Are we allowed to know how this came about? Was she found as a stray, handed in, sold etc

This afternoon I had a couple of hours searching the local area where Izzy went missing. I spoke to a couple of their neighbours as well. There hasn't been one sighting since she went missing. Hoping she's just been out on a bit of an adventure and makes her way home.

I have been in contact with Janet via the Burwash Community Facebook page. I have sent her a PM but can see it's not been read yet.
I think that Network Rail should be contacted as it's quite close to the railway line.
Whilst the postcode is a Etchingham postcode, she actually went missing from Shrub Lane, Burwash.
Owner said that her garden is secure so doesn't know how she would have escaped.
I'm going to head over there now with my dog to have a look around.
