We're still looking out for Poppy !   Sad to hear posters have been taken down,. I will go and put some more up  around the area again. Please keep checking on the dog pound sites especially with ~Springfield Kennels who take in the strays,   Was this the one you checked out with the similar one ?  Also when you have time check on other locations too just in case !!  Don't give up though..... if someone has taken her in locally she could still be found yet !!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello, just wanted to update - someone called to tell us about a dog on http://www.lostdogsyorkshire.com/ who looks like her - we all looked at the photo and comparing it to our pics of Poppy we didn't think it was her (the chest hair doesn't match) but called them anyway. Unfortunately, that dog is fatter, has no chip and was found in Castleford.. but thank you to whoever it was who let us know about that photo anyway, because she is very similar.
We've noticed some of the posters we put up have recently been taken down but my mum always carries one in her car and has shown it to loads of people out walking dogs. My bf is going to take a poster to his workplace (Grattan) and put it up there. We are still constantly on the lookout and are very grateful for all the effort everyone else has put in to help find her.
At this point, we do think someone has taken her in and not reported her or had her scanned. If this is the case, I just hope they take good care of her.

I have phoned owners for an update  and unfortunately there has been no news of this lovely girl. She is a very friendly dog and as had already been suggested by helpers Phoenix and Furlover she may well have been taken in by someone who is unaware they should have her checked for a microchip. For this reason postering need to continue and hopefully someone will see a poster that knows of Poppy's  whereabouts. x PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had to go see someone this morning in Calverley so  afterwards postered around the area there     Then  went up Woodhall Rd/Avenue?  forget which  -  but eventually runs down and joins the roundabout at Thornbury.    Put poster up at entrance to the lake (lots of dog walkers - so handed some out to them ).  I also accosted the postman on that road, he said he would put poster up back at work. On way back put poster up at entrance to woods Clara Drive --   spoke to a couple of dog walkers there and gave them some too.  Phoenix is so right !!   it is really common that people do just "take in" dogs and don't think to get them scanned for a chip and don't even think to advertise they have found a dog. So, the more posters up ,and the more people are aware ,the more chance there is of getting her back.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Need to speak to as many people as possible, especially other dog owners. As many people as possible need to know she is missing. Someone may have taken her in, not realising that they should report her to the dog warden. Someone somewhere may know of someone who has recently taken in a dog. There is also Abbey House vets (01274 876686) who deal with injured strays in Bradford. Also this may sound awful but need to contact the cleansing department (think they come under the council) in case she has been in an accident on the roads. Speak to your postman and any paper delivery people, and give them a poster. The more people who know she is missing, the better.   Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Went out and put some posters up Northcote Vets Undercliffe  shop Moorside Lane,   Co-op  Dick Lane,  local shop on Fagley Estate, Also put up in ~Thornbury Vet Hospital  they kindly faxed through to affilliated ones  Horsforth, Meanwood, Morley, and  Birkenshaw. Put one in my own vets at Idle and shops in Eccleshill village,  Co-op (at the old Ring of Bells roundabout Eccleshill )  shop at Five Lane Ends. Went into Eccleshill library and said they would put one up  then when sticking found the original one from owner. ~Anyway there are now 2 posters in there. There are some "tight" sods  one shop charged for putting up.  Not a problem -  but another said they don't put posters up.  :-(   so much for community spirit. ! When put poster up in COOP at Ring Of Bells roundabout man started talking to me  --   said heard there had been sightings of " a dog " around Pullan Avenue around the time Poppy went missing and that it was up and down the snicket there.  'Without being unkind, I'm not sure how credible he is upon speaking to him. However, with it in mind I will poster more around that area tomorrow  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I rang dog warden today to check ( as didnt have the time to go down- had a 2 hr window before had to go back to work)  Actually got through to a helpful man !!!!! who double checked back to 25th Otober.  He said they have no matches from that period up to date But, a physical check would be best. Spoken to Poppys owner tonight and have given Leeds 'Dog warden tel no.  (as the surrounding area converges with Leeds postcodes and could come under their jurisdiction if Poppy has been found in Calverley, Rawdon area.) Also have given no for Marina Kennels  at Huddersfield I will be able to get some posted up after work tomorrow  and then  ~Wed/Thurs/Fri will be free in the afternoon so can get as many up as possible as will have more time. I'll confirm where I've postered so there aren't duplications.     Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have spoken to Poppy's owner and to date there is no news of this lovely girl. I explained the 7 day rule to her and advised that she actually goes to the stray kennels in person to make sure Poppy is not there.Have also emailed detail for pounds a little further away. Great the contact no is now on the poster.  I will get some printed off and put out - however it won't be until tomorrow due to working. I went around Calverley this morning and asked people there but they hadn't seen or heard anything. Thankfully Poppy is chipped  and not an elderly dog so shouldn't have the problem of the scanners and chips not being compatible. Owner, have you contacted PDSA hospital/vets at Wakefield Road as it would be worth checking with them also. Let's hope the chip brings her back !      Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner, sorry to see your girl is missing, thanks for putting her details on DL can you please confirm the tel number to go on the poster, we will do all we can to help you in your search.  You need to poster poster poster the area as much as possible.  Posters can be printed by selecting Dog Poster 1  just above Dog Information (you must be logged in).  Contact vets and leave a poster (you can find vets in the area by clicking on the logo right hand side just underneath Latest Missing photo).  Do update us on who has been contacted ie DW’s etc and if you have started postering.  Comments can be posted by selecting  Add a comment just above other comments.  Great that she is CHIPPED, please do contact the Chip Co and report her missing and that your details are up to date.   Good luck and hope she is found soon.  Jan x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
