- Okay fair enough, but I knew of one House cat that "Escaped" twice. However cat owners know their own pets of course. Hope all goes ok at the vets:-) x Keep us posted Last edited: 2020-05-13 12:01:02

- Glad to say that Sarah set the trap about 7.30 .
By 9 o'clock Sherbert was safely caught in the trap.
Is now safely at home a little thin but glad to be home. - 2020-05-12 18:02 Sarahleanne.xo
- I have had a trap dropped off today, huge thanks to Pat & all her hard work. It will be set once she is spotted in the area so other cats don't get in it. Fingers crossed she goes in & we get her back

- I was goimg to suggest a cat trap too. Cat Protection will sometimes let you borrow one for a small donation, I think. They will show you how to use it. When you manage to trap Sherbert, I would put her under "House arrest" for at least a week or mayne ten days or she will proably return to the area she was seen. All xd.Last edited: 2020-05-12 14:13:46

- Sarah's cat came to the garden last night and ate food Sarah put down.
However she runs when movement happens.
I have found a lovely lady who is getting a trap sorted today thank you Linzi.
So fingers crossed Sherbert is home soon.

- That's great at least you have seen her and know she is okay. Hopefully she will come back and you can get her home but I suppose the top flat could be a problem x

- She came home last night, I saw her out of my window, but living in a top floor flat she couldn't get in. She went off into a garden when my partner went out with food for her, and I sat out until midnight quietly waiting but she stayed away. Hopefully she'll come back tonight. Put out fresh food this morning but that was untouched, so put out more and some treats just now and now keeping watch.

- Luckily female cats that haven`t been neutered don`t usually go as far as unneutered male cats. Try this as you would for a missing House cat. A door Sherbert has access to open wide, then put some tuna/sardines or warm chicken in her dish, and place it about twice the width of the open door. The best time to do this is night/early morning. If you see her appoaching, just act nonchalant, and just say to her "Hello where have you been? And don`t make any sudden moves, or give eye to eye contact, pretend you are looking at something, and she just may enter the house for food. Paws xd.

- Thank you for your comments.
Sherbert is not neutered at the moment, her previous owner didn't bother to get her spayed or microchipped so I was going to once she'd settled in with us, then we went into lockdown so she was going to be done straight after, but then she got out in the mean time, as soon as she's back I'll ring the vets straight away for a full check up & chip & spay. I have been putting out unwashed clothing/bedding every evening, to keep the scent as strong as possible. I have delivered posters to every house in the area with her photo and my phone number on. She had originally taken to 2 gardens around the corner, where we were allowed access to try and get her, but she moved on after 3 nights there and wasn't seen for the last 2, she's been sighted again today running across a garden a lot closer to home so seems to be coming back, every time she's spotted I've been straight out calmly calling her in that area to try and avoid scaring her off and taking her favourite treats to try and lure her out, as well as regularly walking around the area several times a day looking for her. All the neighbours are checking their garages and sheds regularly too for her. She's just very very nervous and won't come too close to us at all, as soon as people move she runs away again - 2020-05-09 16:40 Unknown
- Thanks Jenkins. Anotger reason why a cat goes missing is this; sometimes a person will take a fancy to someone`s cat, and try to hide it in their house. And Snherbert is very pretty. I have known this happen until the cat thief saw the male owner, and returned the cat. Paws xd.Last edited: 2020-05-09 16:42:25

- Sorry that Sherbert is missing, Assume neutered? Check all outbuildings including empty houses, and cellars THOROUGHLY as some cats will hide in or behind an object within especially if timid. Cats can stay very still, and quiet in certain circumstances. They are renowned for it. Bear in mind too that cats have very flexible spines which rotates, so they can squeeze into very small spaces (About 2"/3" wide 7/7.5cm) So has she managed to climb into a partially opened window, and is now trapped? Exit can be difficult; depends on the drop. Check trees; any deckings too. Empty contents of the hoover onto the garden as his scent will be there; litter tray contents too. PLEASE DO NOT leave the litter box/tray out as other cats may use it, and it could confuse, and upset the cat. Put some tuna/sardines or chicken in his dish, and call him; night/early morning is best. Rattle some treats too. (Just because you can`t see a cat, it doesn`t mean they aren`t around) Place his UNWASSHED blanket into a clean container along with your scent too. Leave in the garden in a sheltered spot, or hang on the washing line if dry; used towels too. Wipe her scent on your garden fences, gates, doors too; anything leading up to the garden. Try a squeaky toy as it may attract her attention. Take a good walk around the area, holding an object with her scent on, and rattle some Dreamies, someone maybe feeding her. (Common problem). When it`s nightfall, and you are searching use a strong torch as the light will reflect a cats eyes. Poster around the area, and post flyers through doors too. If possible post in shops; post offices too. And is there a dominant cat in the area? As sometimes they will chase a less confident cat out of their own territory. And the chased cat will not return until they think it`s "Safe" enough for them to do so. Post a LOST CAT ad in a National newspaper in case she has climbed into a vehicle. which isn`t that uncommon for cats to do. If Cosmo isn`t neutered she could have gone seeking a mate, and they will sometimes stay away for days, and days. Paws, and fingers x
