- Check ALL outbuildings, including empty houses, and cellars THOROUGHLY as some cats will hide in, or behind an object within especially if timd. Bear in mind too that cats have very flexible spines which rotates so they can squeeze into very small spaces (About 2"/3" (7,7.5 cm), so has Lilly managed to climb into a partially opened window, an is now trapped? Exiting can be more difficult. Check trees; any deckings too. Empty contents of the hoover onto the garden as his scent will be there; litter tray contents too. DO NOT put the litter box/tray outside as other cats could use it may upset, and confuse the cat. Put some tuna/sardines , or warm chicken in her dish and call her; night/early morning is best. Rattle some treats too. Wipe her scent on your garden fences, gates, doors too; aything leading up to the garden. Try a squeak toy as it may attract her attention. Just because you can`t see a cat, it doesn`t mean they aren`t around. Place her UNWASHED blanket into a clean container, along with your scent too. Leave in the garden in a sheltered spot, or hang on the washing line if dry; used towels too. Take a good walk aronnd the area, holding an object with her scent on, and rattle some Dreamies Someone may be feeding her, (Common problem). When it`s nightfal, and you are searchig, use a strong torch as the light will reflect a cats eyes. Poster around the area, and post flyers through doors too. Post in shops; post offices too, if you can. Post a LOST CAT ad in a National newspaper in case she has climbed into a vehicle, which isn`t uncommon for some cats to do. Also is there a dominant cat in the area? As sometimes they will chase a less confident cat out of it`s own territory. However the chased cat will not return until they think it`s "Safe" enough for them to do so, but sometimes they can become lost, and disorientated, and lost. Scent is very important when looking for a lost cat, and they can smell from streets away. Ask family, friends, and neighbours to share well as DL. Paws xd.Last edited: 2020-05-21 16:02:02
